Sky+ Prices

What is this cost? We just bought a sky+ box for £80 and fitted it in ourselves.

and you was already with sky ?, because you can get it allot cheaper than that, last time I rang up they offered me the box (sky+) for £50 and installation free, but I have been with them over 10 years.

whats the point? when you can get sky to give you a brand new box and install the whole lot for 50quid with one threat...

basically yeah.

No. The box was 160GB btw, which is double the normal capacity.

Go with the annoyed customer/leaving threat, i done it recently and got free Sky+ free install and a multi-room sub with a new box for free aswell!

Just say, you have been with them for a while (w/e you have) and since you've been with them you've noticed your current box has been getting slower and slower and due to the credit crunch you where thinking of canceling.

Although be prepared to get someone who really can't be arsed trying to give you a deal and will possibly cancel you! But from when i done mine, i have heard from others doing the same.

I'm just looking at the introduce a friend on the sky website Stinky - will be in touch if we go with it!

My dad tried to cancel and then get it back as a new customer- the system wouldn't allow it as he was still in the database. So now its under my mum's name, at a much reduced cost :D

I had all the movies and sports and 2 normal sky boxes in the house.

I managed to get 3x sky+ boxes plus installation for free.

Sky will rip customers off left, right and centre given the chance, you HAVE to ring them. When we moved here 2 years ago, I rang up sky explaining we are already members but need a new dish fitting because we have moved house and they wanted £100 or something stupid even though for new customers its free. The woman I was speaking too even said well just put the phone down and call again and start again pretending to be a new customer. Thats how ridiculous they are.

Has anyone here managed to get any decent deals with Sky HD by threatening to cancel?

I'd be suprised if anyone has. I don't think there is much they can do regarding sky HD yet, but sky+ they are trying to make the standard and slowly phase out the normal sky boxes.

"Hi there, id like to cancel please."

"Why!?"

"im after some HD channels and to upgrade though you is far to expensive, im going to by a Freesat box instead!"

"o right, let me see what i can sort out......."

you never know?
