Sky removing Discovery Packages

So thinking of binning off sky because of this. We have got a bunch of stuff recorded on the Sky+ part of the box. What happens to it if we drop out TV sub? What happens to the Sky+ feature? I am assuming the Sky store features stay for any purchases that we have made in the past?

Anything recorded will be lost.

This is terrific news for me, because the missus and teenage daughter watch literally , and I do mean literally, 8 or 9 hours of Say Yes to the Dress on TLC at a time. I HATE that show, so this is a big win for me :)

According to the contract, you loose access to Sky Store and purchased items on there when you cancel your Sky TV Subscription.

This is probably why everyone was given a free voucher for the Sky Store over Xmas. Sky probably think if people spent them on something they would later lose access to if cancelling Sky, even if they didn't directly cough up any money for it, they would think twice about cancelling since they "have" something they would lose. Oh, I don't know, maybe some "hypothetical" late January event where something drastic would happen which would prompt thousands of subscribers to think about pressing the cancel button, but would wring their hands on the idea of loosing that box set they bought with their voucher.

Todd has had an awful season so far, so hope Freddy hasn't saved his bacon! :p

I actually miss the other Fred and his son. Didn't like them at first but they grew on me and then they left the programme.

Parker whilst being a bit of a petulant child sometimes. I'me massively impressed by what he has accomplished.

- now wait for the Discovery BT&Virgin negotiations , maybe Discovery thought Sky was the weak runt of the litter to tackle first.

Best thing is, Discovery accepted the same offer that was on the table last week. And Sky just signed a deal to bring American PBS documentaries to the UK as well.
