Sky UK launching HDR Wednesday 27th May.

Is there a thread elsewhere discussing peoples opinion/experiences of the sky HDR PQ, and the degree that their tv's give good rendering of HLG ?

you could, cynically, think hdr was introduced in Italy, first, because customer base was newer, and they mostly had compatible boxes, whereas for the uk, the customer base had older incompatible machines, so sky waited until newer boxes were owned by a majority of the population.

(despite the small amount of content currently) how do they avoid a contract breach legal action from customers ?
say, hypothetically, if they significantly reduced availible (non-hdr) 4k content, at what point could you complain
There's probably something on AVForums about it. They love a good picture discussion.

What I find frustrating about Sky is the lack of streaming UHD. At least I assume you have to download and watch it or am I doing something wrong?
They’ve never done a pure streaming service, it’s always been download and save to hard drive, watch from there. Netflix excepted though! If your download speed is sufficient that the box can download faster than you can watch then you can start watching almost immediately. Obviously for UHD you’ll need 20-25Mbps or better to do that.
