Skylake Clockspeeds and benchmarks!

Of course you're welcome to your own opinion. Time will tell, though if Skylake will be as good as many of us believe it will be, I can see you buying a 6700k/z170 board on the day of release, even though you've done nothing but bash Skylake in this thread so far.

Time will tell, I'll be sure to quote all your negative Skylake posts if you do another U-turn like you have so many times before ;)

Bash Skylake? Because I think X99 represent better value for money than a higher end Skylake chip..

Your trolling at this point. Think about what your writing.

Take it easy.

I don't think it's a coincidence you just decided to sell your X99 rig, in preparation for a Skylake purchase.

I'm simply stating it makes you look rather foolish if this is the case, since you've done nothing but bash Skylake for the last few weeks/months.

Intel Skylake Non-K Processors Will Feature Overclocking Support With Adjustable BCLK, Memory and iGPU OC

JouGLS7.jpg

Good news for anyone wanting to pickup a cheap CPU and try to overclock it ;)

http://wccftech.com/intel-skylake-nonk-processors-feature-overclocking-support-adjustable-bclk-memory-igpu-oc/#ixzz3h6rD1PVm

I thought you were always able to change the base clock on non K CPUs? It's not the best way to overclock a CPU though so the K models will still be the ones to get.

I haven't bashed Skylake at all. There's no need for this absolute nonsense.

I said X99 for me in my opinion: Something that you say everybody is entitled to, 'only as long as they agree with it seems' represent better value against the higher end Skylake chips.

I have also said Skylake i5 + decent priced mobo will be new sweet spot for gaming. Your leaving stuff like that out because for some reason you want to say I'm bashing Skylake.

Now your making comments on what I'm doing with my stuff.. Getting weird at this point.

I'm not sure what this is about, but I think you should read my posts from a neutral perspective. Maybe take some time out.

Take it easy mate. It's all good.

A quick google at U.S pricing reveals this.

£211.30 inc vat - i5-6600K
£304.70 inc vat - i7-6700K

I bought my first 2500K for just £149.99 and my second for £167.99 inc vat, with inflation at 3% that would only equate to £183.56 inc vat, but I'm not too bothered as Skylake will be lasting me another 3 years.

Maybe I'll get around £150 or so back for my old rig, so around £250 to upgrade, not sure about i7-6700K - I can't see myself going SLI anytime soon.

£211 - i7-6600K
£150 - Z170 Motherboard
£060 - Corsair DDR 4
_____
£420 - Total inc vat.

TBH Nel, CPU's are lasting us all that much longer now I'm not surprised Intel is hiking the prices. I buy all the new **** and even I won't be bothering for another generation or 3!!

Hopefully Zen will be good enough to give Intel a good kick ;)

If Intel really want to sell millions more, they should just drop the prices by £50 for each CPU.

Going back 8+ years forums used to be absolutely thriving with people overclocking CPU's, modding motherboards to push the extra clocks etc; the worse it has been is since Sandybridge, after that hardly anyone has bought new motherboards or CPU's, this is going by forums and checking various motherboard topics, totally stagnanted since.

Not sure why you're angered that I mentioned the fact that you're selling your X99 rig - you shouldn't have posted the thead in orange text in your signature if you wanted it to be private..

I simply dislike hypocrites and trolls. You bashed, trolled and were negative of Skylake many times in this thread. If you end up buying it on release date, rest assured I'll quote your negative/troll posts, and we'll see who looks the silly one ;)

Take it easy, buddy.

I'm waiting for Kabylake as I honestly simply can't afford to get anymore parts this year but it doesn't really look like it's worth the upgrade for 4790K owners.

If the IPC uplift turns out to be nothing like previous releases (touted but fails to appear in games/benchmarks), you could go X99 for the same money and get soldered IHS, more cores (that ARE needed if you're spending £300 on a CPU), more L2, quad channel, lanes, yada, yada...

All hinges on dat IPC. Speaking of which is it me or is Intel keeping a lot tighter lid on leaks for this one? We should know 100% by now what the score is.

Well I just got my 32GB kit of 2400, Asus M7F mobo and the 4790K around 4 months ago and a Titan X 8 weeks ago so for me personally that is going to have to do for this year, Unless a 6700K can give me a noticeable boost ingames :D

Can't wait for the release of these chips simply because I can't wait to upgrade my system!

I currently have an 8350 but switching up to a smaller mATX build. I'm completely undecided as to whether I'll want to go with a 6700k or 6600k - or possibly go z97 and 4790k.

The thought of having to buy new DDR4 RAM at current prices is kinda putting me off.
