Skyrim fail - Why don't you like it?

ok so you dont get it.

understandable

i like racing games and fps titles, i may give skyrim a go soon to see what the fuss is about. but i certainly wouldn't judge someone who liked it if i didn't.

your responses are quite alarming here, either you are just trying to cause a stir or are genuinely unable to see that people have different tastes.

if the game doesn't appeal to you, then play something you do like

Not at all, I'm not trying to cause a stir and I get that people have different tastes, like I said, I want to give the game a go, because all my friends like it, but it just doesn't appeal to me at all, not the all the other games I play do.

It sounds like the RPG game with a fantasy/medievil genre just isn't for you.

I don't like racing games: I find them too repetative, I have little interest in cars that I do not sit in, I do not get hooked.

However I can understand people's enjoyment of them and don't feel people even need justifying such a love.

Pick one up cheap and give it a go with an open-mind; if you still don't like them then avoid buying in future and accept people have varying interests! :p

Great, then go and play the games you like. This thread is EPIC FAIL

So pretty much EVERYONE I know who owns a PC is going on about this game, and I can't for the life of me figure out why this game is so popular.

I've played Morrowind, and I just didn't get what the point of the game was.

As far as Skyrim goes, an MMORPG, without the MMO part? how does that work, from what I've seen and read about Skyrim, a game like this would benefit so much from having the online multiplayer that World of Warcraft has.

So I thought I'd offer a place for people to talk about why they dislike the game.

Have you actually played the game?

Its not an mmo. Its just a single player rpg. Nothing more nothing less.

I accept that, but I'm failing to see why the game is so popular, am I really being that unclear, CONVINCE ME I LIKE THIS GAME and why I should buy it and be part of the masses, because at the moment, I really just am not getting it.

Probably the same reason I never liked GTA, I just ran round killing people and blowing stuff up until I got the army after me and eventually died lol

Quick OT question of stupidity. Do you have to have played the other games to understand Skyrim? I'm mainly a 90s RPG player and now an MMORPG whore.

Right, we are going to sit here and convince you? That is not the topic of your thread, the topic is why don't you like Skyrim??? Not tell me why it is good. Make your mind up

Either you are a troll or you are the stupidest person who has ever worked out how to post on a forum.. My 8 year old brother can work out what makes this game appealing.

Pretty impressive stats right there.

Like someone said up there ^^ i'm going to force myself to play it, cos if so many people play, then surely it must be good? :D

I don't like Skyrim, but I feel like I should because people just won't shut up about it so I figure I need to give it a go, even though I really REALLY cannot see the point of chasing dragons on horseback, casting spells etc...

I just refuse to belive that I'm the only person who will not buy into all this Skyrim is a must for everyone who owns a PC crap

I don't get how the thread is Skyrim fail, why don't you like it. So he wants us to tell him why it's crap. Then a few posts down he wants us to tell him why its great. This thread is lol

If it doesn't appeal to you then you could satisfy your curiosity when it comes up in a Steam sale, the wait won't and shouldn't really bother you due to your feelings about it.

I've yet to play it myself, though I think it will more than likely be for me. I just hope it's better than Oblivion, which although I thought was a good game, I was nonetheless kind of relieved when it was over. Morrowind on the other hand...a very good title imo.

You miss the point, if you like RPG's then YES everyone with a PC should buy it. If you dont like RPG's then no you should not buy it. So no you are not the only person, everyone who does not like RPG's will also not like this game.

Did the op ever play games before the internet was fast?

For me games always used to be about the story told or the interaction you put in to get the end result (so point + clicks are amazing like management/building games). If these are not the main draws of a game then I'm confused at what is...

Skyrim is a fail because I don't like it, yet I feel like I should, so I'm attempting to find other people who don't like it and why, since I haven't found anyone who doesn't like it, then I might as well find out why I am wrong and should like it?

Honestly, is that so difficult

Yes, I played games like Dizzy, Sonic, Streets of Rage etc.... games that had an ending

Yeap kids today can only play online with others. I was a kid with spectrums and commodores so I was lucky to learn to play a game for its story and not my k/d ratio online. My son will ONLY play GOW he won't play any single player game. I think it is time to ban him from live and force him to play single player.

Long answer yes. Short answer yes. You shouldnt need to ask people why you dont like it to justify not liking a game.

How you should have phrased this thread I dont like skyrim anyone else not seeing the hype / popularity.
