Skyrim fail - Why don't you like it?

I don't have a long list of hatred for Skyrim though, my main point that I've been pushing for the past 6 pages is...

Why do so many people love a game that looks and acts so much like an MMORPG but lacks that functionality, a functionality that has been a constant for games for a good few years now

It's nothing like an MMO.

It looks nothing like a MMO, acts nothing like a MMO and descends from a game genre that predates MMO by many generations.

Do you hate all single player games?

I never said I hate it

1) I just don't get why so many people can like a game, where as far as I can tell you just wonder round a massive world talking to AI graphics, slaying make believe dragons

Skyrim is the only game where you can do this, which is why I like it so much.

I love massive open worlds. When I play Minecraft I can be amused for hours just wondering off in 1 direction. When I play Skyrim I can just wonder around for hours killing things or doing quests. No other game rewards exploration as much as the Elder Scrolls games.

Why are people sticking up for this idiot? he didn't create a thread for meaningful discourse from the point of view of someone wanting to try the genre out looking at Skyrim and had a few final questions... that would have been a good thread... however this thread is "I don't like RPGs, people who play RPGs are nerds, you aren't going to change my mind, come at me bro!"

Oh, I don't know. Maybe, just maybe (and I know it's going to be a crazy mad idea but bear with me)...they find it FUN? The same way you find fun in fragging other players in BF3, CoD, or whatever it is you play? And before you say it's not the same because dragons don't exist irl, remind me, when was the last time YOU went out on the streets to kill people for fun?

Read the first few pages and skimmed the rest.

Is this whole thread really just Jay794 and InKursion trying to troll RPG players whilst working out how to perform a circle jerk with just two people?

Hardly, I was actually looking for all the people who dislike Skyrim to comment on why they don't like it, but instead a whole boat load of Skyrim lovers (I was going to say Skyrim-jobbers) turned up and said I'm stupid because I don't like a game where you pretend to be an elf or and orc or whatever slaying dragons and completing quests to get more gold or a new peice of shiney armour etc..

But you'll happily pretend to be a soldier shooting other people pretending to be soldiers, to unlock shiny service stars and medals which in turn give you pretty new pretend guns to use on your pretend soldier to shoot other people pretending to be soldiers, instead of actually joining the army?

Okay.

Regardless of the game, it's quite obvious you aren't the brightest guy around. You need at least a basic level of intelligence if you're going to try and carry off an argument that an amazing game is absolute rubbish.

It's beyond ridiculous and you are making (have made) yourself look like a totally clueless fool.

Op what sort of games do you like ?

I bet he's one of these people that says gaming is a waste of time but watches the X-Factor religiously.
