Skyrim fail - Why don't you like it?

The 40's was just an example, no need to get all defensive, we're not interested in your life. :D

Usually if you don't understand the hype or find a game compelling that's fair enough, you've gone to another level here.

Played or not not played has nothing to do with it

Well.. it does. How can you hate something having never have experienced it?

I'd get it if you were just saying "Meh, not my kind of thing", but several times in this thread you've said that you hate and dislike it. It's almost as if you're creating a statement against a popular game just in order to provoke a response from those that enjoy it.

manchild, 24, loves the trollin'

Played or not not played has nothing to do with it, I was merely trying to find people who shared my opinion, obviously I somehow attracted the polar opposite, so maybe I need to turn the magnet around and try again lol

Try,

man, 24, doesn't get all the hype surrounding Skyrim, has girlfriend of 7 years

Does that not tell you something? After 7 years even she aint to sure :D

I don't have a long list of hatred for Skyrim though, my main point that I've been pushing for the past 6 pages is...

Why do so many people love a game that looks and acts so much like an MMORPG but lacks that functionality, a functionality that has been a constant for games for a good few years now

Holy **** shut the hell up or play the game, you have no idea what you are talking about.

lol :D

What did you call people before troll? I am not a troll, I'm not doing this to provoke a response, you're all making me out to be a troll because I feel that I have defend myself when I say dislike Skyrim, I haven't ever said I hate Skyrim, I have said numerous times "Why all the hype" and "why enjoy a game where you blatently should be able to play online, but can't" but I have never said "I hate Skyrim"

This thread has gone so off topic now, you guys are just bashing my opinion for the sake of it.

A mod might as well close this thread because of you lot I just got 8 pages of "why don't you like skyrim? you're being stupid for not liking the most awesomest game ever"

I'll admit this is a thread fail but thats you're fault not mine, if none of you had posted all you're pro-skyrim opinion in an anti-skyrim thread I might have actually been able to have a proper discussion with the few people that do dislike skyrim and why.

Can a mod please close and delete this thread as I'm obviously unable to ask, what I deem a sensible question, however maybe I should try "Why do you hate MW3 or Battlefield 3" as those threads seem to attract a little more decorum

I dont like the lack of online play in this, they give you a MASSIVE world to roam around in and you must explore it all alone :(

I completely get why people like RPG's like Skyrim, and I think I also get why the OP doesn't get it, assuming he isn't trolling. If I'm right, he likes games that have a single focus, a story with missions or chapters you have to beat that progress you in the game and reward you until you reach the end, rather than meandering around for the sake of it with no important objectives. Like a book from start to finish, then you move on to the next one.

I haven't got skyrim. It appeals to me to an extent and I can totally see why an open world of exploration would be fun. I'm very tempted to try it, but I have other games on the go at the moment, so not in a hurry. But I generally prefer games that are actually more linear and simplistic, such as FPS (just shoot :p) or Tomb Raider games (solve puzzles to progress) or point and click adventures (solve puzzles and read dialogue to progress), where you aren't really involved in side quests, but where you simply play the main story/game. In Rage there are side missions, and I did a handful, but I mostly wanted to play the main story. Because seeing what unravels is more interesting to me than building up more money or upgrades that don't really have much to do with the main story. Unless I was totally unable to finish the game without those things, which I was except in a couple of cases. When reading a book, you can't affect the outcome and roam freely, you just read the story. Perhaps this is where the OP is coming from, I don't know.

Bored the **** off me, just not my thing, Oblivion was the same too and I bought that as well. Just thought I'd give it a try, game's simply lost on me, just not my thing. Each to their own and all that.
