I normally end up in bed between 12 and 1am and then up at 6:30.

I'll quite often get caught up in some gaming or watching TV. That and also just not wanting to waste time sleeping.

I have a very physical job so every 2 weeks or so I'll have an early night 10:30 - 11 and then I'm ok to have more late ones

Finally, a decent night's sleep. I had a 5 hour drive down to Devon, staying with relatives... was shattered so was asleep before 10pm, woke just before 6am with 46% of my sleep being REM and deep.

Considering getting a wake-up light, e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lumie-Bodyclock-Rise-100-Wake-Up/dp/B07VHQ5K9B
Anyone got experience of these, do they work? Any recommendations?

Yeah they're great. No longer do I get jarred awake by a noisy alarm, you find yourself naturally waking when it gets sufficiently light. I keep my phone alarm as a backup just incase. There's also a function with the light whereby it'll mimic sunset so when you've set the alarm and the light is on it'll gradually get dimmer until it's off completely.
