Sleeping Dogs

Does anyone else feel like some bits were cut? Especially the girls, Emma Stone's character is in it for about 5 mins and Not Ping never appears again.

Yeah absolutely, feels really odd:confused:

The radio stations are ok in terms of the actual music, but I think could use a few classic tunes. And the banter is a bit lacking.

-Vice City when Billy Jean comes on:cool:
-GTAIV when White Wedding comes on:cool:

I keep pausing to take in just how good the game looks, GTAIV might have all sorts of mods to make things look realistic but i'm loving the style of this game more.

tell me about it, maxed out this game is sick, i posted it on facebook and i kid you not i got several responses saying, "yeah is that supposed to be GTA V?"

Whats the NPC like in this?

Im talking traffic, peds, etc ... do roads get busy, do cars just disappear in front of you? Will peds react to the situation ie firefight or car coming at them... things like that make the game more for me.

I mainly ask as I see the street race captured above by Paul cz has no other cars on the road at all... I mean thats what sort of made races in GTA etc as you had to deal with the other traffic and race as if its real time and the city is still alive, not have the city cleared of anything useful and pretend that everyone is tucked up home in bed because 6 fast cars have to race through some checkpoints.

Some races the traffic is cleared, some aren't.

Generally there are plenty of peds, they react to gunfire, cars driving, honking, a fight breaking out all pretty realistically tbh, definitely one of the better games in this regard.

Cars, I haven't noticed them disappear but at high speeds you can see them appear, didn't bother me though.

After one mission I left my battered car in the middle of some road, went wandering off for miles around the docks to beat up some manual labour workers and then happened to return upon aforementioned road about 30 minutes later to find my car in the exact same position. I was impressed.

I have found my car often disappears after small cutscenes/conversations. Also, do you not keep your gun after you get one? I used one on a mission and after it had finished, I didn't have one at all.

I think the pedestrians react very well in this game.

Its 'ok' on all counts, fairly superb on some (story voice acting), this game is a perfect pre gta stopgap, well worth a buy (17 quid for me on g2play) cant complain at all, so many worse games about hard to believe this almost never came out.

Don't seem to have played much but I'm at 43% completion already, will try and lay off main story for a bit and do some side stuff, already completed quite a few of the drug busts. Collected 5 or 6 statues for the melee moves also.

Anyone learnt the leg breaker yet? Makes me wince everytime I perform it, it's the sound of the bone cracking that gets me!

RE spoiler....yep wincer

The game has been absolutely rock solid stable for me. I alt+tab out to the desktop multiple times during any gaming session and even then it is very stable. Yet to have a crash anyway.

I am hugely enjoying the game, moreso than vanilla GTAIV (minus the gaye tony dlc improved the game a lot). There are many impressive features that propel it above GTAIV but my concerns are what the game is like after completion really. I hope there are still things to do.

I am about 38% into the storyline so far and have begun hunting down health shrines around the other cities on the map.

there really is kainz, I completed the storyline a while ago, and I've put in another 5 hours since then, theres a ton of missions for roland collecting money from people, chasing them, trashing stores etc, then you do missions for another guy, collecting cars of his choice for $40,000 per car, it's really good, and then theres the random ones you find, and races etc, theres tons, I'm working on all achievements atm, keeping me busy because I need to get money to buy all the cars etc. Also there's quite a bit of gambling which has kept me busy, quite fun betting on which chicken will win in a fight, lost around 800k though -.-

I managed to flip my car on a jump, went off and did a mission on another island, came back about 40 mins later, jumped over the same jump and landed on my car still lying there!

Superb ta! I have just met Roland and done his first mission, which was an absolute blast. Can't wait to get home to continue playing.

I had been replaying San Andreas for the past week and a half so that game is now on hold until I play SD to the death.
