sleeping on plane

Another way of falling asleep i find on planes is get yourself a window seat and prop a pillow up next to the window...thats what i normally done when i used to fly econo class.

Now i havent got that problem as i fly first or business class:D:p...reclining seats that recline into a bed really do rock \o/

Thats what I'm very worried about, off to OZ next month.

I didn't sleep a wink on a 13 hour flight

and that was on a flight that was supposed to leave at midnight but was 4 hours late.

When you sit next to a right minger, trust me, it's very easy :D

If your in any luck your seat will have the headrests which the sides come up to stop your head falling side to side, when you have that it's a doddle.

love those headrests :) every plane shoudl have them

I just sit up str8, get a pillow/hoody and just bury my head into it

Travelled for most of my life so i make do :)

I also found it impossible to sleep on my way to and from Oz.

The flight there was the worst, everyone closed their window blind things (even though it's bright outside!) then turn the lights off in the cabin and expect people to sleep. Ran out of movies to watch so I decided to try and join in, but all I kept doing was slowly nodding off then suddenly (I mean suddenly as in jump and flail your arms a bit) waking snapping back into full awake, then repeat! It was horrible, plus I looked like a right muppet.

Also didn't go to the toilet during the flight at all.

On an internal flight my mate had 4 seats to herself, so she just layed down and went to sleep, lucky for some.

I dispise the leg room on the flights. I can't move and end up getting leg pain after a while. Maybe because im 6'3 but it's annoying. If first class was £100 more I'd do it.

Ontop of that I can't sleep on planes. can't sleep on any public transport. So I kept awake for about a day and a half once just because I can't sleep on public transport. Can't even get compfy never mind that. And if I tried to slouch over onto the food trey I'd probly get cramp all over.

No matter how hard I try I just wake up every time I start to drift off, same on any form of moving transport when I want to sleep. In saying that though some days I struggle to stay awake on the bus to/from uni and could easiliy sleep. On the plane i'm usually too busy throwing up with motion sickness to sleep, which reminds me I need to see if the Doctor can give me anything before I fly in a few weeks.

I try to get a window seat if I can and that way I can lean against the wall of the plane as well as the seat back to make sure I'm not going to be falling about if I get to sleep.

if you are tall then this is very very difficult. even though you get to rest your head to the side you will still have a lot of discomfort in your legs!

just came back from a 2 week stay in LA. i had the aisle seat first which i stuck one leg in, not blocking the pathway though.

way back got upgraded to economy plus so had ample leg room!

Funnily enough I'm 6'4" tall, I just put up with a bit of discomfort in terms of leg room to have the ability to sleep a shade more comfortably. :)

I can fall asleep in a car / coach literally within minutes of getting onto the motorway (can be tricky when I'm driving!).

Planes are harder, they're so noisy and it's quite cramped, but I managed to get 8 hours on the last leg back to the UK once, arriving in the morning totally refreshed which was pretty cool - the secret to that was being on a ferry the night before and having a really bad sleep, so by the time I'd done the first leg and dwalked around the airport for 4 hours I got onto the second leg and just collapsed :)

I flew in an Air France 777 the week before last. As much as it loathes me to admit it (damn French) it was actually the best economy I have ever used (and I have tried a fair few)... Lots of legroom and wide seats for economy. I definatley think it's once the taller gentleman should try if possible.
