SLI 680's with 3*27" 3D monitors.

I have never used more that 2 cards because of the cases I use. I have thought about watercooling and using more cards but as you mentioned above not getting good clockers has put me off.

Tried 2 of your cards, but the 2Gb was a killer. Excellent fps just had to turn to many settings down/off.

Don't get me wrong the cards i've got are good, just wish blocks were out as temps rise quickly causing throttling preventing better performance.(IMO)

The other issue i've got is wether or not my psu(AX1200)
is upto to the task of 3 Classifieds as when using EVBOT the cards can draw
towards 375w from what i've read.

+1

Thats why I limit myself to 1600p. I was running BF3 the other day with every setting maxed out and getting minimums well over 100FPS but if I switched to a multi monitor setup the performance would drop very badly.

Single cards are much better for ocing which really helps if you have a multi monitor setup.

Called at the shop I got my cards from today and I now have the option to swap out for a nominal fee.

Really fancy the cards underwater but its that nagging doubt of
how good the new cards would be,
plus a possible new psu for OC headroom?

PS sorry Gregster for sidetracking

No probs. I understand your concerns and I would be terrible tbh. My EVGA is a fairly decent clocker but would I gamble on a swap for a different one? maybe another Lightning I would.

How do you rate the 3d performance with the nvidia 3d vision?

Also do you think I would have more fun gaming in 3d or with 3 monitors as I can't afford to do both?

No real way to answer this. Try to see both in action before deciding. I would say Surround over 3D if I had to pick one.

I live in the middle of no where and the only people I know have xbox's so there is no way I can really test them out.

I got the choice of buying 2 more 37" LEDs and runnings surround or buying my self a decent 3d tv and the vision kit.

I have had a mixed experience with 3d in the cinema some movies I like some I don't.

3D revolutionised a lot of people's gaming. Others were more 'meh'. It really is completely subjective so it's difficult to really say.

3D for me was what got me back to enjoying gaming tbh. I thought it might just be a fad but I love it. I don't play MP games in 3D though as I am bad enough in 2D. I personally love the 3 screens and it is impossible to explain how good/creepy it looks in 3D...I recently played through Fallout 3 on one screen in 3D and now I am looking forward to playing it in 3 screens in 3D.

Like Rusty says though, others will differ and it is a personal choice. Also I go to the Cinema quite a lot and watch 3D films and can honestly say Nvidia 3D vision 2 knocks spots off the 3D you see in the cinema.

Beautiful m8 makes me want to add 2 more now.
What's grade b items? From overclockers?
I have a flimsy sli bridge if u would like it, and it helps.
One word AWESOME!!!!!

Cheers bud and on my searching of the B Grade section for a cheap GPU for a poster, I stumbled across 2 monitors the same as my original one and they were £100 cheaper each. That is the reason I made the jump to 3 screens. I had never bought from the B Grade section before but can honestly say I will again as they are perfect (I am sure one is brand new though).

Stupidly in my haste of ripping boxes open, I was kindly informed by Optima that the MSI Lightning comes with a flimsy SLI bridge and it should be in the box. Afetr I checked the box and see it staring me in the face, I have since swapped the GPU's over and added the new bridge.

Very kind offer cheers :)

Why don't you change the cooler on your evga instead of changing gpu-while taking a gamble on a not so good as you have clocker?

The AC's are quite popular with the 6 series and cheaper/less hassle than what you'd lose selling your gpu.

Not sure on the exact name but evga do an awesome looking 1500w psu in black and red. Then there will be no doubts.

Temps are good now I have the cards swapped over. Been hot the last couple of days and after putting quite an aggressive fan profile, it sits nicely around 55c and 50c. I will be purchasing a side fan for my case.

Blowing in or out? I would assume in to blow on the GPU's?

No no no.
We will get him to WC the whole system next! ;)
The wife will love it!
Sorry to ask again, I'm being stupid b grade section on the overclockers website store?

That was my plan prior to getting this rig but now it is a distant memory... Water cooling I will probably do on my next purchases (haswell/880)

Blowing in will probably be better for a reference/non-reference combo.

If you had 2*non-reference then you would extract hot air using the side fan.
