i got two IDENTICAL gigabyte 6600gts, both 'GV-NX66T128D's.
running Nvidias latest drivers

i switched the SLI card thingy over on the mobo to put it in dual mode, connected them together and booted up the PC, the nvidia thing popped up saying something about being able to use multi-GPU SLI mode... then when i go into SLI settings it says:

"You must remove any graphics cards that are not compatible with Nvidia scalable link interface (SLI) technology before you can enable SLI"

theyre both SLI ready and IDENTICAL!!!! running Nvidias latest drivers too

84.21

will it have anything to do with graphics card BIOS or something (dont know anything about it) and i have no floppy drive

This is how you do it in this order because when i set up my system i didnt do it in this order and it didnt work

Once you have installed the NVIDIA SLI components and booted up your system, do the following:

Install the nForce drivers (provided with the motherboard)
Reboot the system
Uninstall any old NVIDIA graphics drivers from the system and reboot the computer. If there are no NVIDIA drivers installed, go to Step 4
Install the latest NVIDIA graphics drivers (provided with the add-in cards or from the
SLIZone Downloads Page)
Reboot the system.
After reboot of the system to the Windows desktop, you will see an SLI Capable System message

Have you enabled the option in the bios as wel

ASUS p5nd2-sli

there is a BIOS update on the gigabyte website for the card, one of the features of the update says: enables SLI

i dont know how to flash the BIOS and i dont have a floppy drive

enable this

Please prepare two Nvidia Geforce graphic card(equipped with SLI mode)¡Ainstall one graphic card to PCI-E slot one and another card to PCI-E slot four, and plug in SLI bridge on the top of both graphic card.
Set the BIOS option "Genie BIOS Setting" >> "PCI Express Configuration" to " 8-4-NC-8 "

that on a dfi bord but there should be a option like that

there is an SLI menu but all it says is something about enabling or disabling the warning if no additional power connector is plugged in, which is enabled

yes, its in dual mode! and the cards are bridged

edit: ok when using either card by itself nvidia tells me:

"Your card features NVIDIA Scalable Link Interface (SLI) technology. Add a second graphics card with SLI technology for significant improvements in rendering performance"

however it reverts to the:

"You must remove any graphics cards that are not compatible with Nvidia scalable link interface (SLI) technology before you can enable SLI"

once i put them together
