So basically someone like Superman or Blade could do it, but for us mortals we don't have a chance.
Unles of course it's the wrong time of the month, your mrs finds out you've been playing around and picks up the katana instead of the rolling pin ....

The Mafia are Italians or of Italian descent. There is no other Mafia other than the Italian one. The American Mafia have just moved from there and branched out. Mafia derives it's name from when the French occupied Sicily hundreds of years ago.

Most Samurai cut for decapitation, or at least tried. Most humiliating cut was to chop your opponents hands off and let him live (if he didnt bleed to death)

A cut straight through the waist is easy. A shoulder to groin was the hardest test for a sword (see my first post in this thread) and not all swords could manage it.

Since when? Thats just silly..They werent crazy, this stuff was for real....Most samurai were soldiers, you dont go round purposely trying to cut off heads, thats the fastest way to get yourself killed. I think youve seen too many movies mate...

Remember that the 1-1 stuff was relatively rare in real life..Battles are battles, lots of people, crazy, scary...You dont faff around trying to chop someones head of or trying to humiliate them..You try to kill them in the fastest and easiest way possible.

Samurai werent supermen and their swords werent magic..The myths surrounding them are the only supernatural thing about samurai.

There are swords that can slice SEVEN people up in one blow, which were made by Masamune in around 1300. They tested them on dead bodies, and then wrote how deadly they were on the side of the sword

How on earth can you believe that? 7 people in one swing? The physics alone make that impossible..

The cutting tests are interesting things..From what ive read, the various cut tests were just cut tests, they didnt necessarily have to go through the entire body...Just cut into the body.

Have you ever seen the video of the katana blade cutting a bullet?

a katana held completely in place by artifical means is very different to one in someones hands...If a bullet had hit a sword in someones hand, it would not have been cut.

I don't believe for a moment that you could manage head to groin but I did hear that...

A test used for swords was to take a prisoner and make three slices in one fluid movement:

1) Across the neck to sever the head
2) Shoulder to hip, to remove half the torso
3) Across the belly, to remove the other half of the torso

If the sword was "good" then you could finish the move before the head hit the floor.

Don't believe that either.

No matter how sharp a blade is, be it a ninja katana, a giant scalpel, a cleaving broadsword or a rusty hacksaw blade it's never, ever going to go through all that meat/bone/muscle/innards when 'propelled' by the swing of anothers arms.

Hehehe, I have an image of a Samurai running down a line of people holding out a Katana blade in a "clothesline" style move. You'd need incredibly long arms to get enough swing to slice 7 people in half. Do they circle you for this exercise?

Must stop thinking about this because I'm laughing and trying to drink coke at the same time :D

Maybe its a 20 foot sword and the guy just goes in a circle really fast like a propeller...until its swinging really fast but the guy actually has no control...then someone pushes 7 blokes in front of it.
