I recently bought a MR2 n/a rev 3 for £1300 but I have had to spend a lot fixing various issues with the brakes, don’t forget these cars are 10+ years old now.The Handling traits of the MR2 are a heated debate, but the consensus is that their reputation isn't well deserved as long as you live within your limits. From what I've heard once you've lost it, you've REALLY lost it!
The handling has been great until a few days ago when I swapped the wheels. The new ones had cheap tyres on the rear and the car has had minimal grip in the wet, oversteering round corners and struggling for grip on hill starts. Needless to say I'm getting new tyres in a couple of days. If anyone wants to know what tyre brands to avoid: don't get Triangle Talons!
Apart from that the MR2 has been amazing. It grips really well and I would definitely recommend one. You just have to behave yourself in the wet, especially on roundabouts, or you will find yourself facing the wrong way!

Take standard model, what some more power and extra bits on, boom hot hatch.
