Smartwatch Thread (news/apps/updates)

I love my Ticwatch pro 3. It's bloody brilliant. Does everything i need and my most importent feature is google pay. It's my only pay method.

Don't even need to get my phone out my pocket anymore to use google pay, or even stays in the car if i can park close enought to shops. :D

I've got 100s but never had to buy any, I have to wonder how much better a paid for face is !!
I've now got the naffest face ever and I love it but if I go into a meeting I do switch to a normal looking watch face just in case it comes on and they see it :)

If you read into various articles. not one manufacture has stated if they will provide a new firmware with the new google/Samsung collaboration onto older watches or in fact if they will be supported. id hazard a guess that you will only get the new google/Samsung os on newer premium devices and in fact not on any of the older devices.

I suspect there are going to be a lot of unhappy people.
Watch face compatibility. The same problem I had going from wear os to Samsung Tizen os. any watch faces previously purchased would not work on the new os. I'm a bit of a watch face freak, I have tons and tons of them. So if i bought one of the new watches containing the new os. I would have to completely buy new ones. make no mistake there will not be any compatibility, you will have to buy new ones including apps I suspect.

I agree, but just to point out that your watch doesn't need to be connected to or anywhere near your phone for Google Pay to work on your watch.
 
I tried Google Pay for the first time yesterday on a bag of liquorice sweets for the wife.
Whilst in the Chemist my watch notified me somebody was at my door and my Dad is standing there so opened up Ring my phone to talk to him.
While in my house he mentioned a song so I went on my phone and said "Alexa, play ........" and amazingly the band came up on my watch with play controls :eek:

I love this Ticwatch Pro 3 and yes I do realise these 3 things above can be done with other watches, it's just that it keeps getting better.
I was out all afternoon and evening yesterday and didn't have to look at my phone once except for a Blink notification to see what had set it off.

Whilst I somewhat agree that some apps or watch faces may be available on one format then another doesn't get over the fact that if you have paid apps or watch faces you will have to pay twice. I do not see apps or watch faces that you have to pay for on one format then suddenly becoming free on another.

To be fair I have paid for a lot of watch faces. but also had a lot of free paid ones via coupon codes supplied via a YouTuber that does Samsung watch face reviews/previews. are paid ones better than free ones. i dunno it depends on the functionality and design of the watch how it looks etc. only you can answer this i think. tbh I do not mind paying for watch faces, as I do not mind paying for icon packages to customize my phone or widgets. It rewards their hard work. Ofc there are some very good free ones I have some of these also. but I have noticed they are ones that are on sale ie temporary free or ones that are free to get up the Samsung store ladder.

I guess I would only repeat what I said. I would be really surprised if that was the case. I'm not saying it wont, just that you stating as fact 'you will have to pay twice' is not a known fact at this point. I guess I'm looking from a Wear OS point of view. If you've paid for Tizen watch faces, yes, you are more likely to have to pay again if you want the watch faces on a new OS.

Tbf, if they have to do all the hard work again, why would you not pay again? :)
 
just ordered the Honor Watch GS Pro in black 25 day battery life don't know how accurate that's going to be if it's half that I'll be happy, white version is only £82 quid on amazon.
 
I can also verify the Ticwatch C2+ is also a cracking smartwatch, the wife is very impressed.

Also for the Ticwatch Pro 3 users I have kept my screen on ALWAYS ON all evening and it's only gone down 1% !!
It does dim but I think it's so much better than the dual display.

No the main face but in ALWAYS ON Mode it dims to show the same face.
That's a 6% loss since around 4pm yesterday.

just out of interest how many options does that watch have for Always on display ? got my honor watch but the always on faces are a bit merge compared too the downloadable ones not sure why i cant have any face i want.

Just one which is Always On but it means it is dimmed like the dual display.
I'm now on 92% since 4pm yesterday.
 
What features do you use you watch for? If you're only losing 8% battery life in 24hrs then you're not using all features or disabled a few?

I get solid 3 days out of mine.
