Received my Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and think I'm going to have to return it. Notifications don't work properly, not sure if it's my works Office Exchange admin policies breaking it. Just occasionally a notification comes through but seems no logic to it. Full reset didn't fix it. Update didn't fix it. No combination of settings fixes it.
It also asks you for your PIN constantly if you set one. Won't even show me the time without a PIN.
My cheap Huawei Watch had no issues.

Mine only asks for pin if I remove it from wrist and put back on . Can I ask if your google wallet works ?

Edit - connection lost between phone and watch now. Can't see each other at all. Another reset needed.
I cannot add any cards to Ggogle wallet on the watch 5 pro phone and watch 4 are fine

Found the problem with my watch. It doesn't detect its being worn so no notifications come through. If I place it on my palm the notifications immediately arrive. Will have to return it.
Don't have any tattoos and no probs with other watches so suspect its a faulty unit.

So for those with smart watches, what's the benefits of having one rather than just using your mobile phone (fitness use aside)
I can't quite justify a smart watch as I carry my phone and do everything on that but I'm trying to understand the benefits of a smart watch.

I use mine a lot for checking notifications and not having to take my phone out all the time unless I need to respond or reply to something. Helps give me better battery life too as I'm not using my phone as often. Plus all the health stuff like exercise tracking, heart rate monitoring etc. I can also control my music playback and change tracks via the watch.

I'm still fairly happy with my Fitbit sense, very tempted to go in on the pixel watch though, the bezels are rather large though.
I like my GT2, soon to be replaced by the Pixel Watch.
The GT2 has been great for:
- Quickly and easily viewing notifications, seeing messages while working or out and about.
- Alerting me to calls. My phone is on silent and the watch lightly vibrates when a call is coming in.
- tracking sleep. Purely indicative but I like these sort of stats. Also throw in stress levels, breathing exercises etc.
- counting steps. It's a loose measure but when I see my steps are low I feel the need to go out for a walk and get a little exercise in.
- live heart rate. This is useful when in the gym to see if I'm pushing myself as hard as I think I am.
It also tells the time

Looking forward to the new watch giving the additional option of contactless payments.Aesthetics , I'd wait on some reviews of the pixel vs 5 pro I'm currently getting 4 days of my 5 pro battery wise and like the the fact I cannot easily break the screen

Given the apparent dimensions of the pixel watch, it will be too small for me.

I think the battery is the deal breaker for me.

Really like the GW 5 Pro. Had to send it back fir a repair initially but now it's fixed its really growing on me. Decent battery life, smooth and clean UI.

It says in the quote you posted that he wants contactless payments.
He should prepare to be disappointed by the battery though as the GT2 is a monster and the Pixel will be rather feeble on that front.
