I'm saying its cannot be justified on any level.

Me driving 1mph does not litter the roads.In fact not one human being would know I was driving 1mph over the limit so again a pathetic responce.

I do it as I have a company car so need to keep the ashtray clean due to some other stupid law that came in a little while back banning this. (although Im possibly exempt as my company car is mine 365 days a year)

good on you and you'll be glad to know I throw nothing else out my windows and always find a bin to despose of my other rubbish....I make an exception for cig butts as Ive already mentioned, while they may take a while to decay if left as butts, once many cars have run over them a few times they get ground up and decompose pretty damn quick.

Of course I do, you don't know me at any other level than the fact I've admitted I throw tab ends on the road while driving and given my reason and while I'm sure I can't convince you its alright to do this, I do have a conscience and the tab problem rates very low on any scale of whats important. How about you tackle other more serious litter problems like crisp packets, cans, fast food wrappers, fly tippers which is clear to see everywhere unlike tab ends on the road ;)

Litter is litter regardless of what is thrown out of car windows. Again you fail on every level. Its OK for tab butts ? But a chewits wrapper is not?

Aye fair play, but it was fairly obvious that I wasn't talking strictly about throwing fag ends out of the window, just about the fact that smoking, throwing a fag butt out of the window, driving a car and emitting exhaust fumes, negatively effecting other people's environment, it's basically the same just done in a different way. So it seemed hypocritical to me that anyone who doesn't show 100% commitment to the environment/society in which we all live would dare moan about something so trite as a cigarette butt. I agree that's not really acceptable (even though we smokers are paying for them to be swept up along with the none smokers trash).

It's a bad habit certainly. And I don't personally flick my butts.

This is not about carbon footprints. Its about littering the streets.

No one is perfect. But Littering is wrong and has no place in civilised society.

Its not a hard concept to understand.

It arogant,selfish and lazy.
 
That im afraid is the society we live in. I hate litterbugs as much as the next person but , saying that all smokers do it is wrong. I know lots of people that smoke whilst driving and use the ashtray. I use the ashtray and dont care if it makes the car smell as i bought it to use as i see fit.

I haven't said once that I think all smokers do it.

in short yes, but in the great scheme of the environment debate it hardly registers. I suggest you get a grip on reality and decide whats important as what you can't see (and you can't see them on the roads can you???) shouldn't mean you can resort to calling someone a loser...for all you know I may well be very good person in everyway bar this one thing that I'm honest enough to admit to but which I admit to cos I can't see any effects on the roads of me & many others doing this?

Walking 30 miles to work is not feasible.

Not smoking on this short journey is.Not throwing the butt out the window is feasible.

you only consider it vile becuase you don't smoke and I congratualte you on that but thats not to say you have any right to preach to me or any other smoker (unless they're in your face with a cig) about our habits. Personally I find excessive drinking, fat people who gorge themselves then blame their genes or people who drive 200bhp+ cars or huge 4x4's then preach environmental issues quite vile but I don't tell let them about their vileness at every opportunity cos at the end of the day its their choice.

I'll pull up anyone who I see littering regardless of what the litter is.It not a smoker I have issue with. Its the act of littering.

chewit wrappers are plastic coated iirc, so they wont decompose very quickly and dont get ground up like butts do. If threw a flower or leaf out of my window would that still be considered litter in your world?

Last time I looked at a chewit wrapper it was made of paper.

The flower arguement doesn't work either. Flowers are not full of chemicals and pollutents are not man made and don't carry disease and germs like a soggysmelly tar ridden fag butt.

Don't try divert the answers I've given and question I've asked you by keeping up the pretence of ignoring other wrongs....directly they're of course not connected but its a hypotetical question to determine wether your quite happy to call me a loser on one hand for the ONE THING you know I do wrong , while on the other hand offend or break rules/laws yourself but consider it ok? Please answer this one
