Can we all agree that they were both kickass consoles though? If you were lucky enough to own both i bet you enjoyed them either way, one more than the other as thats natural of course.

I'd love to see Sonic 1, 2 and 3 remade like Sonic Generations, that game restored my faith in Sonic games.

I can dream that SEGA may one day do this.

None of them were . The bottom two never even came out in the US. They're reproductions I made so I could play them on my PAL console and not spend ridiculous money on importing the NTSC version.

I went with Snes as I've never owned a Sega system. Used to go round to my mates and play on the megadrive that they had. Loved E-Swat and Golden Axe, but these still couldn't topple Mario Kart and Final Fantasy VI (III).

its close in term of title, since most games are multi platform anyway.

i like sega games better, but the snes edges it because of the huge number of games (snes definitely had more anime game and other games in japan, even the crap ones) and the floppy drive to let you play home brew (copied) games.

I had both (japanese imports) and the Snes wins without question. It's not even close in my mind.

It will come down to the games you liked to play. I had Mega Drive and was the console to play for all the Arcade ports. I am a sucker for Outrun, and have it on practicaly every system i've owned over the years

I suspect every Mega Drive owner had to have every sonic game, just as every snes owner had to have every mario game. The snes was generaly the place to go for rpg agames. Nothing on the system that I cared for.

I meant any side scrolling beat-em-up's as good as SOR.

snes for me. Loved it. My cousin had a mega drive and I did like the console, but I never felt the urge to own one. also the 3 buttoned pad was kinda limiting. Especially for the multiplat games like street fighter. And don't forget the ability to play gameboy games!!
