I voted SNES on my gut choice because it looked better, sounded better and there generally was more depth to the games.

Megadrive was an amazing console though (considering its inherent limitations) so many hours of fun could be had with it.

Buying some games for mine, i have a spare console but may keep it if they are that expensive

Had the sister over.. We can still get tetris attack to lag on versus..want dk country 3 now

Hands down my most favourite xmas prezzie of all time. 14 at the time and it was like winning the lottery.

Still neck and neck:(

Actraiser had some wicked music.

....as did Equinox.....

....Plok.....

Castlevania, Spiderman & X-Men: Arcade's Revenge.....

.......Rock'N'Roll Racing, Secret Of Mana.....the list is possibly huge. For me it was another edge the SNES had over the weedy Megadrive soundchip. Although four of the games listed where done by Tim/Geoff Follin (old skool coders from the 8bit era)

Personally I'd like to see some SNES stuff on the 3DS eShop, I think a release of top old skool SNES games at a reasonable price wouldn't go amiss, instead of the crap they're currently releasing!

I had a SNES (and still have it), mostly becuase I wanted to play Streetfighter II.

Never owned a Megadrive, so you can guess which I voted for :)

I bought this off ebay when i was 23. It was still like winning the lottery!

Also came with mario kart, donkey kong country and a couple of other games

Sold it a year later for the same price but now have the urge to buy another and play some 52" Street Fighter 2 and Mario Kart again!

The SNES certainly was (seemed?) more powerful, and kicked the Megadrive's butt in terms of RPGs, but overall I enjoyed more of the games on the Megadrive (Gunstar Heroes is still BOSS!).

As such I am not voting.

I think We need to get something straight!

The Megadrive had Street Fighter II: Special Championship Edition - this was FASTER than Turbo which came out on the SNES.

The above fact Plus the 6 button controller on the Megadrive meant that playing SF on the megadrive was a much better experience closer to the 6-button arcade machines.

I will never understand why so many think the SNES had such a great controller anyway - ok it had 6 buttons fromthe get go but, and lets face it, the shoulder buttons were, frankly, TERRIBLE. it was like someone stuck them on as an after thought - they were so cheap and had zero travel.
