Sniper Elite - 2

Well I've played it, I went for the hardest setting "Sniper Elite", naturally.

Pretty good, feels a bit clumsy though, could have used more stealth as you practically have to kill everyone in the demo. AI could be better, I think sometimes they spot you too easily, other times they will just start randomly shooting their MP40s at walls when you aren't even there. They also seem to pop out of nowhere.

I get 50-60 fps on my ageing Q6600/GTX 460, that was on ultra, although I didn't notice any difference when going from medium to ultra, perhaps they have not added it in.

Keep trying. Changing to a different location might help, I got 2MB/sec from setting my location to France.
 
There must be a problem with the demo i'm guessing as other games seem to come down no problem? 7am, and it's still not playing ball :(
 
Oddly, the download size of the demo seems to of got smaller!?! When I tried countless times earlier it said the download was over 2gig. Now it says its 1.5gig. Strange.

Still dosent work though, busy server error :(

Weeell, that is a game killer for me:( A sniper game where you have to shoot everybody?! Being a sniper is all about making it to the vantage point, camouflaging yourself, waiting, making the shot and then getting the hell out.

I have played airsoft in the forest with some Canadian sniper and he had like 10 "kills" using rubber knife alone. No stealth- no good:(
 
I loved the first game. Not played it in a while. Will probably install it again later on.

There were flaws, but with any hope the dev's will have taken a look at the classic Theif games and taken a few ideas out of it.

Will give the demo a go once it's downloaded.
 
It's far too easy (even on sniper elite difficulty) and it's linear.

Having said that, watching bullets go through people's bones and organs in slow motion is fun, I just don't think it's £30 worth of fun.

SO i downloaded it from steam but its not in my games list. When I clicked play from the DL listit went to the sniper elite page on the store. When I go to the Sniper Elite folder in my steam archive and click on the launcher it goes to the store page. Clicking on Download Demo again does nothing. WTF. It's downloaded, now let me play it.
Ideas anyone?

Pretty much the same problem
 
Seems it's just screwed. Nice waste of 1.5gb bandwidth. I can't even try to download it again, even though I've moved the Sniper Elite folder out of the steam folder and restarted it too.

Pretty annoyed tbh.
 
Theres a sticky'd thread over at the games Steam forum that details the delay. Apparently its not the developers fault, its a Steam network issue. They had to take down the demo all together from Steam and try and sort it.
