I'm a light sleeper, and my wife snores. Half an hour plus of that at 3am makes me strangely unconcerned about the quality of her night's sleep, and I'll either tell her to roll over, or give her a nudge, and that will stop her for a while.
However, a few months ago, she decided to get healthy, and gave up fizzy drinks. Within one week of healthy eating and no pop, her snoring had all but stopped, she had more energy, and was sleeping better herself because her snoring was no longer disturbing her own sleeping.
I can imagine that not being able to sleep for a few nights will make people murderous, not just looking for a divorce, and sleeping in separate rooms (if you've got them) only works if the snorer isn't pumping out the kind of decibels that travel through walls. If it's really a problem, the best solution I ever found was just to sleep in soft foam ear-plugs, and at least you'd get a night's sleep in. Trying to fix the snorer is a bit of a lost cause, and it's simpler just to plug your ears.
