Snowpiercer | Netflix

Just watched 2 episodes of this. What the hell is this.

How did this concept ever make it to TV or film (I haven't seen the film)? It is ridiculous.

So many holes in the story...

Why a train? They had time to build a train with 1000 carriages, but not a compound or building, which would make more sense.

How is the track still in place and doesn't need any maintenance.

We had no explanation of any of the above questions in the first two episodes. It just makes it difficult to watch.

Finally just got a mention as to why the train can't stop.. was just a mention though!

In a Movie format you just accept it and moves at a much faster face so you kind of forget why and accept it. Plus you get (some) answers after 90mins, then you forget about it all.

Made by the same guy who made Parasite too.

Does it seriously matter so much that it's an illogical premise?

I'm an analytical person and it doesn't bother me. Not like there's anything else on at the moment.

I've watched 3 episodes and it's alright.
Very cliché nothing new, same old tropes.

It reminds me of the outer limits. Cramped environment, a mix of all humanity rich poor etc. Typical detective cop story, so far.

It's fine I've had it on whilst I play civilization 6 lol.

The whole concept is ludicrous but, sure why not :p
I've only seen the film once and I wasn't quite in the mood for the metaphor and heavy symbolic themey stuff it was aiming at.

Only 2 episodes. I got excited.

The story on how they persuaded the idiots who fund this sort of trash would be far more entertaining than the actual show tbh.

I don't know it seems kinda decent but probably only because I'm forced to find entertainment.

some of the carriages I just don't get how the interior would fit in a train unless some of them are narrower than others but it doesnt appear that way from the outside or i'm not paying enough attention

personally I'm enjoying it 3 eps in which is as many as were released yet.

it seems much better than the film was and let's face it there's not really any current shows airing that are any good.
even if there were I would probably still watch this.

rotten tomatoes has it rated as
63% Average Tomatometer
69% Average Audience Score

IMDB has each episode so far rated as around 7.0

I think I'd agree with those and give it a solid 7/10 so far.

sure the premise is a little unbelievable and unrealistic but once you get over that, I think it's pretty good

can't be worse than the last season of westworld :P

Watched a couple of episodes and struggling to make any connection to it - I simply don't care about anything going on and there are too many illogical things that you can't just suspend disbelief over.

Yeah episode 3 and whatever... i dont really care now. Ill probably watch it because its once a week and i can fit it around anything, but, its really stupid....
The GF said they better bring it to a conclusion and not keep pushing the story for more seasons because there is no way on earth its going to last, i can only assume, 6 years or whatever the train journey-time was.
As a deeply metaphorical look at society then a 2h film is fine but more is just "a Netflix original mehfest"

personally find it quite enjoyable still :D
not many current running shows I watch though at the moment and I binged most stuff that interested me already

Wasn't a bad episode yesterday, quite a lot of action going on.

Not sure where the story is going to go though, as heard there are 20 episodes!!

I'm actually quite enjoying it as well.

I'm not quite sure what the long story will be though. I think i recall in episode 6 that Mel mentioned the train was dying. From what i've seen so far, there's no-one looking at science/engineering to see how they could survive outside of the train. There's also bound to be brewing unrest that no-one has seen/heard from Mr Wilford in clearly a long time. So i do think there will be a point in time where something catastrophic happens that causes the train to break down/stop, and then it'll be a case of how to survive outside of the train.

sure the premise is a little unbelievable and unrealistic but once you get over that, I think it's pretty good

TBH there's not many believable/realistic things when it comes to apocalyptic / end of the world genre, i guess that's part of the science fiction of it - anything could happen.

As per my comment above. If you're not a fan of anything science fictional etc, then i could understand struggling to see past illogical things.
