So are you getting a 7970 or waiting for Kepler?

The only thing that will give me a problem tommorow and for a few weeks though is the new toy twitch, but:

This, costs less than a 7970 1 year ago and is faster @1080p.

Maybe if Keplar is much faster @1080p I'll have a think about it, but it's very, very dependant on the price Nvidia put it out the door as there is nothing 6950>70 CrossFire can't handle that I play @1080p, and I doubt their will be until the new consoles come out.

What sort of fps are you getting? I'm getting 60 locked with 2xMSAa all on high. May have dipped 1 or twice after 50 hrs gaming.

Pretty pleased with that. Gonna sit this round out and wait for Kepler or 8xxx
 
sold one of my 6950s the other week for a good price, not going xfire again, ive been doing better on 1 gpu than two, not on raw fps but no issues with it,

but i think i will stick with one 6950 until nvidia produce their cards, not because i will be using one [never again for high end] but because it should lower the 7xxx cost.

also i expect that will be my last go with pc games, i think i will switch to consoles when the new xbox comes out, the hardware last years and years, anything made up until then will be console ports anyway so hopefully 1x7970 will play everything at 2560x1440 until the next gen consoles.

never liked consoles, but they are so much cheaper and i bet this gen will be fairly spec heavy and a full media centre to boot!

I don't need a crystal ball xisistor, there was no malice in the comment at all mate, I'm not suggesting your not getting Kepler either, I expect you to get one of those instead as you have said loads of times that you need Nvidia for work etc.

Coupe69, you won't get one either, as your not keen on the red team either.

There's nothing wrong with not getting AMD cards if your into Nvidia, that's just personal preference guys.

Me I don't care if it's red or green tbph, I only get the BBFB card that I can afford at the time.

I'm intrigued with AMDs new cards, although fortunately I've probably got a powerful enough card to last me until I see what Nvidia have to offer later in the year. I can then weigh up the odds.

I do think if I moved to the red team I'd miss PhysX, it works well in the games that it's implemented properly and also adds that extra bit of eye candy over the consoles.
 
I would have went for a 7970 but I tried AMD for the first time recently with a 6990 and could not stand the drivers so kepler it is. I would like to wait for the 512 bit gk112 but If GK104 is more than 1.5GB as standard and is a 580 killer I might give in early :P

That's what I like to hear coupe69, I'm not getting the 7970, I imagine I'll skip Keplar too as like you my cards like I said are more than fast enough too.

I'm missing hacked PhysX just now, due to not having the space to fit my 1Gb 9800GT that I was using until I went Xfire.

Like you I love my maximum eyecandy that's why I game on PC, and the AMD moaners that say it's rubbish, say so simply because they can't have it, if it was available most would use it and back it.
