So I bought a 13700k, and OCUK demonstrate excellence in customer service

I don’t understand why you are making out that they’ve gone above and beyond by picking up the phone and arranging an RMA for a cpu

Because IME that is rare in this sector. I don't know why - I can guess, but it would be just that, a guess. Allegedly one of OCUK's competitors had a whole team dedicated to putting off customer returns. I once purchased a stack of faulty blank DVDs from one of OCUK's competitors in Luton. When I went to return them, I was refused a refund and there were over 100 people in the queues; I never purchased from there again. I could go on.

Now is your chance to change it for the K, from the KF the iGPU is 100% worth £10, you'd be mad to keep the KF at the price you would have paid.

Just had my email from OcUK. My order is held up at the stoke depot, and DPD are returning to OcUK (tracking even says that) . Email gives me the option of it being dispatched again, or a refund, once the return from DPD is received by OcUK.

Why am I having to wait?

This is DPDs failure, but it's how the retailer responds that counts.

I'm not feeling any love, and neither is my lad who missed his Christmas present.

Seems pretty bizarre for a company that clearly does very very well.

Where did I say that ? Please explain. I was referring to the binning of tray CPU’s which some people mistakenly think includes retail.

As for what happened with his CPU I have no idea.
But quartz has said his retail cpu that has been opened and resold. So are people mistaken? Your statement about how it’s been explained is irrelevant given quartz was sold a used retail cpu.

A sold retail cpu that’s already been used, advertised as new? HELL NO.

That shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

So are these binned ones sold as new ?

Retail boxed CPU's are sold as that and should be unopened. I would guess at a return mistakenly going back in the general stock. As for speed binned CPU's have a read of this.

I was curious about this a couple of months back and decided to check out what the prices were like, but I never see anything listed?

I am not sure they currently offer it at the moment, if you are interested you could drop CS a webnote to enquire

Or if @Gibbo is around he maybe able to give an update.

It was purely to get an idea of prices really because if I can get a better IHS for a slight increase in price I would probably go for it.

Hi there

To make some things crystal clear:

Retail CPU's are not touched by OcUK staff, they remain in their boxes sat in the warehouse until sold. If a box is open then it has been opened before it arrived with ourselves or by the courier on the way to the customer.

OcUK does sometimes speed bin CPU's and for this only OEM (tray) CPU's are used which we keep in very large volumes and are no longer made for sale online.

However in the past year or so no speed binning has been done as we found there was little to no demand for it so have ceased doing it.

As a customer if you receive a product that should be in a sealed box but has clearly been opened, you should inform us upon delivery and RMA department will arrange to have DPD collect it and you can be issued a replacement or refund. :)
