So I bought a 13700k, and OCUK demonstrate excellence in customer service

I had to get a replacement part from a retailer.
I told them the issue.
They send a replacement part next day delivery. Told me to return the failed part within a month.

I'd say thats better customer service.

Bit confused of the OTT praise for selling a returned product and then forcing you through length return procedure with no apology + gesture of good will.
That's Quartz for you. We all have to act accordingly :)

Could you please give us minute by minute updates on the status of your replacement delivery, please?

Not sure why you'd contact the courier when it isn't your responsibility, but that of the retailer who provided the return service for the faulty/used part.
I mean, I suppose 12+ days to have a part resent isn't terrible this time of year, but it isn't what I would call exceptional either, well not exceptionally good.

The process wouldn't have been lengthy at all except for DPD making a pig's ear of it. The RMA was issued immediately, OCUK should have had the returned CPU on the Saturday, they would have sent me a replacement the same day, and DPD would have delivered it the Sunday or Monday. It's DPD's fault, not OCUK's, that it will have taken nearly two weeks.

Thats great. So what about this return experience warrants a thread?

I'm just confused. To me what you've explained is this minimum acceptable level of customer service.

This happened when my wife's cake mixer broke 1 month before the end of the 2 year warranty, a quick phone call and they sent a replacement out the same day and emailed a return label to send the broken one back. Received the replacement the next day.

Can't really ask for anymore than that.

I'm still waiting for my chair to be delivered.

Dpd have failed hard and it's just being scanned every night.

OcUK have spoken to them twice and nothing has happened. Not ocuks fault.

Dpds exception process is a mess.

However the only option for a Christmas present on the day appears to be me buying another £450 chair and collecting it. Then sorting out the other purchase for a refund.

Most retailers and delivery companies are the same, so to be expected when it goes wrong. But I know if I'd bought from Amazon it another would have been shipped no questions asked.

It's a topic that has been debated before but I never buy a CPU from a company that actively sells OC'd systems/bundles. Where exactly do you think they cherry pick those CPUs from that go into the OC'd bundles/systems :D?
i will be videoing my 13700kf unboxing whenever its sent and if its not a sealed retail unit, then it will be promptly returned and I believe its customary to also deposit through a letter box any comment........ about the incident

Don’t know if OCUK have changed the way they do things now but I tried buying a high end system from them years ago. The process left me completely baffled. They explained that they don’t allocate parts until they are all in stock, so the parts they have in when ordering aren’t put to one side until the parts that are out of stock come in. Absolutely ridiculous. The customer service was terrible also and the overall attitude of staff was shocking. I’ve bought all of our systems and other equipment from another place ever since and never had similar issues.

I find it strange that the OP is commending a company for selling him a used CPU. Not good at all.

I'm commending them for the way they dealt with it. Everyone makes mistakes; it's how a company deals with those mistakes that sets them a part, and OCUK did very well. Some of their competitors have been absolutely shocking.

They haven’t done anything more than what they had to do though. I don’t understand why you are making out that they’ve gone above and beyond by picking up the phone and arranging an RMA for a cpu that had most probably been opened by them and sold to you. You bought a new product, they sent you a used one. You’ve must have dealt with some very shady places previously to be thinking this is something special.
