a bit easier being able to pay £100 a month or whatever, than finding the whole £1200 in one go.
The fact every other industry apart from the motor insurance industry lets you pay by direct debit instead of having to be "loaned" the money is another matter, but at least one company is moving in the right direction.

I feel really sorry for new drivers too. When I was 17 (1996!) I paid £420 for TPFT on a Mk 3 Escort 1.6.
