So my 8mth old Cat got run over......

Speed probably isn't an issue when it comes to injury, they are such small animals any accident inevitably involves the cat being run over by the wheel and crushed. I'm actually surprised that the vet required an x-ray to ascertain that the injuries were that serious.
Driving slower gives them a greater reaction time to jump out of the way!

I had just finished typing a reply to the recent comments when my fiancé has just phoned me to say -- after his x-ray - its now clear that he's been completely crushed internally, and has to be put down.

Forgive the briefness of this post, I can't say much more right now.

Absolutely gutted :(

Oh no :( I'm sorry :(

So gutted, was telling my mum about this thread earlier whilst saying hi to my own cat. I said he had survived :(

Wee shame really. A few years back a kitten got hit in this street and was just chucked into a garden and left to be found.

I'm not a cat person by any means, but this must be absolutely awful to experience for you. When my dog died I was inconsolable.

Poor thing.

Oh man :( i was all happy reading through the thread with you saying the vet gave him a chance and now im sad because of the update. Accidents will happen unfortunately. Least he's at peace now, you tried your best you couldnt do anymore than that.

RIP Archie

Absolutely gutted for you mate, I'm a true cat lover and I complete understand how you feel. You did absolutely everything you could to give him a fighting chance, fate wasnt on his side in this life. Hes up in cat heaven now curled up in a friendly lap or running around chasing mice to his hearts content.

My GF and our two 'babies' make up our family and we''re a total mess when even minor things happen to them. I've had to make similar decisions in the past too and found it an utterly heart wrenching experience.

You and your family have our deepest sympathies.

Really sorry to hear this :-( Agree with others, it was right to give him a chance. You gave the little fella love and comfort with his family, until a proper diagnosis could be made.

Thoughts are with you are you little boy.
