So my 8mth old Cat got run over......

Just been back up to him, he's still happy to take water, although crying loudly when he moved around a bit - he seems to have movement & feeling in all bar one back leg.

His pain killers will be wearing off a bit, he's due his next dose @ 6pm.

We'll stick with him until tomorrows vet appointment at the very least.

:(

Update #2

Well, I never thought I'd be so pleased to see & smell cat poo & wee!!!

Its taken 24hours but he's just gone through the motions, somewhat messy given his state, but at least we know his bits & bobs are working and he can do his business.
Clearly, had this not been the case, well, I'm sure you can all guess what we were dreading would have come tomorrow.

The emergency vet last night stressed that this was the most crucial aspect of measuring his prognosis, bodily functions = a very very good chance of a full recovery.

Thought I'd let you all know, again, thanks for the comments & support.

Our relief is incredible although I imagine, Archies relief is somewhat greater! :D

Awesome :D Great news...

Keep us updated on his recovery - I hope the good news keeps coming!

Best of luck Mr Mogpuss!

Good news, our cat was found at the roadside after being run over as a kitten, she was in quite a bad way but the RSPCA centre nursed her back to full health and we adopted her after that. I think they're stronger beasts than we give them credit for.

All the best for a speedy recovery

Aww I'm really happy to hear that he's managed to pass urine and poo, must have been such a relief!

Our cat who got knocked down by someone last month, unfortunately didn't make it, so I'm really happy to hear that it's possible for other cats to recover from this.

No point having him put down yet, he's suffered this long, I am sure another 24 hrs won't make much difference.

Hope he pulls through.

this is Simba now after running directly under a car ( brother was following and saw it happen ) back in april. He smashed both sides of his pelvis and was in a special vets hospital (Bedford) for a few weeks. He also couldn't go to the toilet properly for ages but with a lot of love (and money) (about 5K) he's absolutely fine now. Not allowed out now though. Hope yours was insured ?? We were the same when he started going to the toilet on his own too albeit a few weeks later. we are still pleased now when he goes. Best of luck to you.
