New tech and so uninspiring...I have every faith in AMD's release both in terms of performance and pricing.

Have NV lost the plot?

You can get the 570 for less than £300 but I think the 570 should have come in at £250 max. You know how initial pricing goes, it may settle down closer to £260.

18,730 odd posts and you make a blatent troll thread, its a new tech release I dont even expect it to go smoothly and i'm in the market for a new card, are you looking for a new card at the moment? Because this seems to bother you and i'm not sure why if its not for blatent trolling

Oh for pitysake get a grip and do some searches .It's people like you that ruin these boards.

Even Raven gets it:rolleyes:

Can't wait for the new cards as something as to give as no one will buy them at 300

Why would I?

I have better things to do and that includes responding to lack lustre posts from you.

You just have

I'm here for factual information and to contribute as best I can, I say its people like you that ruin that, a lot of people dont care what brand does what and when, they just want the best they can get for their money and these boards help a lot with that

It's fair debate. I for one think the 570 is fairly underwhelming considering we have had the 480 since March that gives the same performance. £300 notes with less memory is too much IMO.

If you did a search and found out what hardware I have owned in the past you would see exactly that I have no loyality to anything when it comes to PC hardware. This is why your post is so laughable.

You took one look at my sig ( created as a joke in create me a sig thread) and have come to a conclusion that is neither accurate or relevant to this thread in anyway.

Ok then, say you arent looking for a reaction from others just for the sake of it. What is the problem? Are you desperate to get your hands on a 580/570?

Havent OCUK sold out?

Off course hes looking for a reaction whats the point in posting a new thread if nobody gives there opinion lol.

I thought it was a well known fact that the gtx580 launch was nothing but a paper launch with limited numbers carrying on until january/february so there is nothing really surprising about the lack of numbers.

To some including myself i always thought the launch of the gtx580/570 was going to be boring and predictable and its turned out to be the case. The main reason for this is simply because nv had no room left to work with on 40nm unless they made a brand new design which was never going to happen.

Nvidias second in line card at £300 offering performance that betters anything AMD/ATI has to offer at the price point?

I would say that Nvidia have a very good line of products with the 5 series. When you take two minutes to sit back and think about what Nvidia offer for that £300 it is clear that AMD/ATI will have to have a better product at the same price or an equal product and a lesser price just to compete.

Physx and Cuda included. A lower power consumption than the previous generation too. Cannot fault that!

AMD/ATI have products in the pipeline, we can only hope that they have the power to beat/match Nvidia and charge a little less otherwise Nvidia will continue to gain the market share that AMD/ATI have worked to achieve over the past 12-18months. At the moment its pulling Nvidias way far more than AMD/ATI but as we all know, things do change.

My thoughts exactly. If price "settles" to around the 250-275 mark it'll be a corker!!

Ok so i'll take it all back but you should be aware that not everyone is interested in your GPU ownership history and you should take that into consideration when you create a thread

No I dont think NV have lost the plot, I think they want a bunch of GPU's out there before AMD release there next line up, seems like a good idea to me, its definitely got me thinking about what to do

I think a few 480 owners who are suckered into thinking that they must absolutey have the top end tech are chewing on sour grapes right now because of the shortlived reign of the 480 as nvidias flagship and the fact that in a matter of weeks its not only been replaced but is also comparable to the current second to the top of the range card

I got a 480, at 830Mhz core I have stock 580 performance, no sour grapes here lol. I think that's why the 5** cards are getting some stick in some quarters, they offer very little over the 4** cards in performance.

I agree that the 570 price is a bit much at the moment. the 570 is say what, 15% faster than a 470? The 5870 is similar performance to a 470, so you are paying £120 more than a 5870 for about a 20% gain in performance...

As soon as the 6950/6970 are released this will be circa 250, where it belongs.
