So, the Championship season has started **Spoilers**

Top of the league! :D

Biggame against boro on the weekend though but I fancy us to take 3 points. We've been in fantastic form and have an incredibly good defence, with a number of clean sheets and very few goals conceded. Only 8 goals conceded.

Andre Gray is certainly repaying is transfer fee!

:(

Don't think we massively deserved to lose yesterday, but a win would have been too much to ask. Played well in the first half and had all the genuine opportunities, including quite an obvious penalty shout (no penalties this season so far!). Second half and Hull's positioning and talent showed through and they scored two; one well taken, one well poached. In between we hit the post with a long range shot.

Goes to show we're not that far off the pace of the top teams in the league, and with Judge, Jota, McLeod and McEachran to come back in, plus additions in two months times, I think we could be hovering around 6th-9th.

I think you'll probably be proved right... although our last 3 games have been a dramatic improvement over the previous 3. I'd take a 0-0 draw though and given both team's defences, I wouldn't be surprised if that was how it finished.

Yeah, I was so wrong about that transfer! If he takes Burnley up then it's money well spent.

I don't recall, but were you against it? I think a lot of people thought he was a bit basic as far as strikers go, especially opposition fans. Last season he missed more chances than other other striker in the league, which made up a lot of minds about him. What wasn't immediately apparent was that he was in the top 3 for chances created (for himself and teammates) by strikers in the division.

I think it was always a case that if he could match his power and pace with increased composure, then he'd be a quality player at this level. A third of the way through the season and he's on 10 goals already, whilst also missing the first game and a half whilst with us through not wanting to play...

Working with Dyche is probably going to help on the latter. And, more importantly, we've got a £3.5m promotion clause in the transfer deal :D Hoping both Burnley and Hull go up this season ;)

I thought the fee's for McCormack and Gray were pretty mental but Ross had a good second half of the season last year and this season he has 10 in 13. Gray has a brilliant record since joining.

Yeah, as Andy said, it was mainly the fee, but it was particularly high for a striker who had had only 1 good season at this level. I know he banged them in for fun at Luton too in the lower leagues, but it was still a risk to shell out £12m

Just look at Murhpy, 1 outstanding season and Boro were ready to spend £5m on a 32 year old. He's yet to score this season.

I can imagine your first loss will spiral you out of control down the table :p

Haha, wouldn't write it off. There are loads of our fans who've completely bottled it so far this season, and the slightest sign that we're a lesser team than last year has seen a portion of the support throw their collective toys out the pram and decry Benham as a monster - comparing him to Cellino!

Our fans have had it so good over the past few years. League One Play-off final in 2013, League One promotion in 2014 and Championship play-offs in 2015, three incredibly exciting seasons and winning entertainment, whilst a fan-owner throws/invests significant money at it. Yet the slightest wobble and loads of fans, many whom should know better and show more loyalty and support, have lost the plot. It's so depressing.

£6m + £3.5m + £27.5% profit sell on for Gray. Good money for someone we signed for £600k a year before, but we're generally missing his presence in the side. Djuricin has made an encouraging start to his first season in England, but we need a bit more. Murphy at £5m and Ipswich should have rolled over for that amount!

Nugent at 5m wasn't much better :p

Shh, it was £4m... that's a whopping 20% saved right there and he's all of 2 years younger :p

TBF to Nugent, I think he's been great, can't fault his work rate and he's a very intelligent player too. However not as prolific as we'd like unfortunately, but then Karanka's system doesn't help there either.

Anyone want to buy Sam Baldock? Seriously, he is the best non-scoring striker I've ever seen!...i really like him, he works incredibly hard and always has a good game, he just never scores!

Enjoyed the match against Brighton last night. Thought it was two excellent sides playing well and cancelling each other out, not something I have said at H'boro for... years.
