So this whole clown craze...

This whole episode is almost as cringeworthy as hearing people claim they have a 'clown phobia'. It's this non-truth that people like to propagate because it makes them look cool and unique (while ironically doing the opposite) that feeds this drive for people to dress up as clowns.. to be cool and unique. Somehow these idiots are praying on their own mis-ideas?

Remember 'Free Hugs'? This is just the next fad.

See, the Soviet fan boys in here would declare the west were warmongering if they did the same. Instead when Russia do it it's preparing.

Warmongering or not, provocative or defensive and regardless of whether Putin is being manipulative with his wording or not - Russia is preparing for all out nuclear war (doesn't mean it will happen or that they will or won't be the aggressor if a larger conflict was to break out) and the west is largely going lalalala.

It is curious in that Putin is somewhat playing the victim maybe with intent to manipulate but at the same time there is a largely unheeded warning there.

He never said that though. He said if a guy dressed as a clown jumped out and scared him, he would get flattened. No mention of the clown having a knife. He already said he had done that once to a guy dressed as Freddie. I suspect a court would rule pummelling an unarmed man dressed as a clown as a criminal offence?

Again, it wouldn't just be "pummeling an unarmed man" it would be "defending yourself against someone who attacked you and who you believed at the time intended to harm you"

Anyone else cringe when Radio 1 presenters say the word Freshers.

Nah, that word has been fully adopted now. We have Freshers Week, Freshers Fairs, etc. A bit like how the Prom replaced the School Ball.

WHy? I went to Uni in 1987 and first years were called Freshers then the first week was called Freshers Week?

Same. Albeit 10 years later in 1997.

So funny that young people thing that brits saying fresher is a new thing. Noobs.

With Halloween not too far away, I can't see this stupid craze ending anytime soon.

I've never been a fan of them, let alone "creepy" ones. The only way to deal with one is to assume the boxing stance and honk that nose of theirs!

Just saw this on the Beeb, about Maccy D's limiting its appearance of their clown mascot. I thought that they ditched their clown years ago? My local branch is in Stafford and pretty sure that branch ditched it in the early 2000s? They've changed their corporate colours as well from red/yellow to make it look more like a café (greens and browns etc).

What is funnier is that Fresher is a British term and it is the word Freshmen that the US word originally came from our Universities when new students were actually described as 'fresh men'

Am i too late to catch the 'OCuk Alphas' proclaiming how 'ard they are and that they will give the clown a hard knocking but totally not because the clowns freak them out :p
