So this whole (ISP block sites thing)

They did not want to impose restrictions but the courts compelled them to.

Just doing 5 minutes of research it's pretty clear this is not a legal site, one which is backed and supported by the movie/television industry and pays the necessary royalties etc. Just because it happens to have content on it you can stream doesn't make it legal. You don't have a "freedom" or "right" to illegal content.

The site hosts no content, its as much as a "Illegal" site for copyrighted material as youtube is for having entire movies and episodes of copyrighted movies hosted on it.

Or google for acting as a search engine for pedo porn.

Just because something isn't a torrent doesn't mean it's a legit way to watch that media. The site was blocked by your ISP for making content available without permission.

I don't understand how it hosts no content. Where does the content you are streaming come from then? You stated earlier that the content was fully legal too which I could find no proof of when researching the site.

The argument of torrent sites being no different to Google (they both index content and don't actually host it) has been done to death but no good arguing with me, I don't (or anyone here for that matter) write the laws.

I know right, everyone avoids this convenient question.

one rule for all or no rule for anyone imo.

if youtube are unwilling to moderate their own website and remove dodgy content they should be blocked until they do ;)

I bet if I looked hard enough I could find one of the films legitimately on youtube you have to pay for and a version of it uploaded by a random user that is free

It does not host the content, each series or movie that may be listed has a set of links to host sites such as Putlocker or Sockashare etc which is where anything will be embed for you to watch.

Also I never said every single bit of content is legal, members can also post content on the website which should be moderated to some degree.

Either way the content is not hosted directly on the website and is no more shady than the way youtube copyright works but is ignored.

Google buys the rights/pays it's dues to hosts films etc

I am not talking about content hosted which people can pay to watch, im talking about entire movies being up there for years which get by due to low view count and not breaking the copyright filter.

There plenty of it on there, technically untill it is completely clean of that sort of content it should be blocked too no? by the logic that is used to shut down sites like primewire.

As with Youtube all Primewire content that is on there which links to host sites to be watched is put on there by users.

sounds like rubbish

most the studios are on youtube selling/renting movies but the ones uploaded ILEGALLY by random people are nothing to do with them and they have no right to upload those movies , some of them even have a black screen for the first 10minutes or the movie is weirdly listed as being like 20 hours long to get around the youtube bot that is supposed to find them.

face the facts youtube do as little as possible to moderate their website

Look at it like this..

You want a gun. You ask "Shady Dave" where to buy a gun and he points you to go down the road , tells you to knock on the back door of the Dog&Bone boozer and tell whoever answers the door that Dave sent you. This is illegal. Dave is breaking the law.

You want a gun. You hear on the grapevine that someone in the Dog&Gun boozer is selling one. You don't know where that boozer is so you buy a map from your local garage. Both the printers of the map and the garage you bought it from aren't breaking the law.

Hehe, thank you for taking the time to explain that to me but I am fully aware of the ins and outs of this sort of conversation, how it all works and the arguments for and against from both sides. I did enjoy your analogy though :p

Why is it rubbish?
got a source showing youtube are giving compensation for all these illegal movies uploaded by people who do so illegally?

some of them are recent movies FFS! still sold on bluray etc but your telling me the owners don't mind because youtube are throwing them a $ per view or something? instead of recieving the full money they would if the person bought the DVD?

we all know the movie studios think
1 piracy = 1 lost sale

we're not taking old movies that were only available on VHS from the 90s we are talking films from this year and last year even , go and look what is on there
