So, what doesn't work on your car?

The problem with threads like this is they tempt fate, but I will reply anyway :p

The only thing that doesn't work is my headlight washers. I ordered a replacement part from BMW this morning.

Fixed

Clio 182 (only had the car a week):

Hazard light switch. Changed the indicator bulbs on Saturday to Philips Silver Vision ones and used the Hazard switch for the first time to test them after doing each one. Switch worked the first time but won't work since. Reading cliosport.net it's a dead common problem, and I've got a new switch on order :).

New switch fitted :).

So:

Clio 182 - everything works.

Oh new addition!

I think the thermostat isn't closing fully, replaced the water pump last week and since then it's taking a while longer to get to normal temperature - gave it a few days to see if it was just air in the system but think now it's the thermostat, probably should have changed it when I was doing the pump, never mind eh at least it's a) only a $20 part and b) having done the water pump with all the expletives that entalied I'm now pr0 at getting down to the thermostat in about 15 minutes :p

my ls430 doesn't have air con anymore.

apparently it's one of the pipes that runs to the rear aircon unit, but as these run above the fuel tank, that has to be dropped for the pipes to be replaced.

Cost for 2 alloy pipes ( bend over and take it like a man £480.00 )

Fitted all in near £1k.

2001 MG MGF - Everything appears to work (Not that there is much to go wrong). Could do with replacing the rear screen but as I drive with the roof down most of the time I havn't bothered.

He has probably made it all up or exaggerated it anyway as part of his new car hatred :p

Whatever. Would you like me to scan the job card when it goes in next week?

Things I do like about the Mondeo, for fairness. It's half the cost in terms of fuel and I don't have to pay to fix anything that goes wrong on it, also the back seats fold forwards which they don't on the Cefiro (not designed to) which is handy given that I'm moving a load of stuff into storage at the moment and said storage place is on my way home from work.

The horn on my Clio is pretty weak, either that or I need to hit the gym more and the miles left in the tank on the trip computer is definitely not worth using. On my way into work this morning it said I had 196 miles left, got to work and now I only have 129 left - it's a ~12 mile journey!
