I applied for 2 of the Football gold medal ceremony tickets.

Think they were £86 all in for both. (D seats)

Registered last year and we’ve got until Tuesday 26th April 2011. Will be going for football, athletics and gymnastics.

The better way for this to work would be once you have applied, getting an email at the end of the 'sale' period telling you which ones you have been successful on and then payment is taken.

If they take the money first and you don't even know what tickets you are getting, then you are basically giving them your money for a month or two and then waiting for it to come back as no doubt only a small percentage of the tickets each person applies for will be actually be awarded to them.

I thought they only took the money for the tickets you had got - but you have a further few weeks to find out.

Yes, but as 95% of the tickets are a lottery you're better off applying to multiple events/multiple sections, even if you only want to watch one or two. The risk is you could "win" all of them.

surprised not many have gone for the opening ceremony

I'm a bit unsure about everything else
although I'd like to watch

athletics one evening (finals)
badminton
weight lifting
and taekwondo/judo/ boxing

should be fun!

Not sure what to apply for and how many.

Say you apply for two tickets for 1 session of 1 event, is it possible you would only get 1 of the 2 tickets you applied for or if you get picked you get what you asked for?

Reminder for anyone who hasn't yet applied you've only got a couple of days left. I've just put in my application for a fairly wide range of sports, I can't say I'm impressed with the whole must purchase with Visa thing or that you get a delivery charge of £6 lumped on the top though. Still I'm hoping I'll get at least some of what I've applied for, then I'll have to sort out getting the relevant days of at some point later.

Then I guess we should arrange a time when the big hairy one is free too and sort out a pint or three. If you're going to be around London on the 14th of May there's a big meet up arranged in GD - might be an option?

Badminton

Even with the second cheapest tickets we've asked for, its going to cost us a small fortune if we get many of them. Well worth it though

London is already a prime target. I'm more likely to die getting knocked off my bike before the games start than die in a terrorist attack while watching the track cycling at the games.
