So who's preparing for winter this year?

Indeed, but I was sucked in by the ongoing raving reviews. Standard was Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GTs. Now on F1 Asymmetric 2's.

It happens. We try hard on here to dispel the myths but we don't always succeed :(

The Dunlops are good tyres, but not as good as the F1s or Contis according to the reviews.
I've had F1 Assy 2s on the front for a few weeks now and I'm very impressed.

This is why i try to stay away from "owners forums". I try to bite my tongue, but when you see everyone agreeing that their Nankang tyres are just as good, if not better, than Assymetic 2's or ContiSport 5p's i get an overwhelming urge to speak up :o

Just the usuals for me. De-icer and a Ice Scraper if it does snow. But, ice scraper does comes in handy when windows ice up.

Car just had a Service. Other then that nothing else.

You sir, are an ass.

i need the snow tyres to pull away on hills and stop, most of the braking power is over the front wheels anyway..

most people manage just fine on summer tyres, the snow tyres are there to help me along, the rear of the car wont be over taking anything and i wont be going over 30mph on the snow anyway..

im hardly an ass, its like calling anyone that fits snow chains or socks on the driving wheels only, its only to help people along..

or did everyone think i was fitting the tyres to go rallying ?

guessing you guys have been to quick fit ? and they've convinced you, even though only 1 of your tyres is on the limit you need to buy 4 new tyres, lol

Say whaaaat? :p

Fronts only will get you moving, probably help you stop a fair bit better and make your car like a pendulum round bends!

how fast do you think im going to be driving ? i dont think the back end is going anywhere and if it does, which it wont at under 30mph, bring it on, i love a good drift

You sir are definatly an idiot, or maybe a troll

I've been doin <20mph in the wet and the rear of my car has attempted to overtake the front. I know for a fact that effect will be amplified in the snow. this is what happens when your front tyres grip beyond the limit of grip on the rear.

For the record you can't drift front wheel drive, even in the snow. It's called oversteer

If this guy was suspended for this post then I will laugh my ass off.

Keep laughing then.

Indeed, seems he was suspended, then came back and was immediately suspended again for no reason

Yep, if you are suspended and have an issue with it their are many available options to discuss it outside of the forums, via email which is in my trust and other dons trust.

Threads like this are not for discussing suspensions.I am getting tired of giving a suspension and then having some cheeky so and so coming back and de-railing threads to argue their "point". Any further discussion will result in a suspension. No questions asked.
