So who's preparing for winter this year?

Our MX-5 managed ok last year with T1R's but the tread does just fill up with snow, it was a whole load better than my DC5! Just remember the handbrake trick and by being gentle and having the traction control off you can get out of pretty much any amount of snow we found!

I have a Scooby this year so im willing the snow to come so i can have some fun

i will be getting a set of snow tyres for my spare alloys though as it can stay snowy for quite a while here in the welsh hills.

Well I am thinking about ordering a dog sled and 8 Greenland Huskies. I'm also considering stock piling grain, rice and canned foods and plenty of jerky. I may well order an ice auger and some fishing spears ...perhaps a harpoon gun. I already have a warm coat, hat and gloves though.

On the other hand I might just put my thicker duvet on and turn the radiator up a few notches.

No relentless, I just quoted you. Why else would i say they were illegal? Unless 1mm is now legal tread, then I will stand corrected.

Ah so less than 1mm above 1.6mm. So you have approx 2.5mm left.

Wasn't trying to **** you off, I just thought the whole Corolla/Civic thing was pretty funny.

The Supra comment just made no sense. Why isn't a proper one. Have I bought a Korean copy? Is it made of cheese?

Indeed, 2.5mm last time I checked about 4 weeks ago so probably around 2.3mm now, basically they will need changing before the harsh weather kicks in

Yes it was funny, to me the Supra comment was pretty funny too because of a run in with one in a mates old car

Going to be getting a spade this time, last year i was stuck in works carpark trying to dig out with a piece of wood for about an hour. Midnight, freezing cold and the only person their was not fun.

Actually, speaking of treads, I've dropped down from a 7.5" wide tyre with radially running treads to a 4.75" wide tyre with conventional treads. Should be interesting to see what the difference is in snow and ice
