So who's running the SETI CUDA client then?

Im using an 8800GT to crunch and I would say 3 - 3.5K a day if it is left on 24/7.
Having said that, it is in a rig with dual Pentium 4 830D's, so I have seen my power usage shoot up so dont run 24/7 any more

It's the power usage that's putting me off GPU crunching. My Q9550 - pushed to 3.4GHz - seems to have made its impression on the bill, so I don't really want to risk making it any more expensive. Shame, as they seem to crunch quite well...

Damn - I was thinking that the old P4 D series chips were known power hungry beasts and I was hoping that an upgrade to a Phenom or Intel quad would actually save me power as these cpu's are more energy efficient.

Yes, in comparison to the D series chips I think they are more energy efficient, but the fact quad's been clocked from 2.8 to 3.4 - with an increase in vcore required - doesn't help matters. I might be wrong with the adverse affect on the 'leccy bill though, so don't quote me on anything - I have been leaving this on 24/7 a lot more than the P4 I had, which got too hot during summer to do that (and that was at stock with a decent cooler!).

Gotta say the Q9xxx E0 45nm cpu's I've been playing with are awesome, easy 3.6-3.8Ghz overclock with little to no increase is vcore and seti/fah stable to boot.

Wish I could convert all my Q6600's really..

/me looks for more things to sell...

Thought I would re-install the seti client after a few years of not using it and it seems my pc has a cuda enabled gpu (nvidia NVS290) All seems to work fine here!

Superrich - What sort of times are you getting for WUs done on the NVS290?

In addition - I'm running the CUDA client on my GTX260 now and then and also hopefully once I get my new workstation in will be using a Quadro FX580 for CUDA too.

Better add me to the CUDA list, pnutty is my id

Not sure if all CUDA WUs are meant to be the same but I get some that seems to take around 90 mins to process while others that 12-18 mins. Seem to be blocks of each. 8800GTX, only using the GPU when the screen saver is running.

Update: Lunatic now has a beta Unified Installer app which installs the optimised Astropulse and Multibeam clients, and the sets them up for CUDA. As long as you have recent enough versions of BIONC and the drivers, just run the installer and select the correct SSE versions - it's that simple. As far as I can see mine is working on the three machines which can run CUDA. They've only been doing so for an hour so I can't comment on stability.

So yes, I'm finally using CUDA.

Nooooo....

I was hoping that I could sneak up on you as you were my next stomp, but that looks unlikely now :( unless your new workstation is a while away yet....

Whats your ID on Seti? I just looked at boincstats and the user with edgedemon only has something like 2500 cobblies.

Did I also forget to mention that it will have a Quad core Xeon 3.2Ghx and 12 GB RAM :p

I'm hoping that it should be here within the next couple of weeks :)

Damn you Sir - my only hope is that it is more than a couple of weeks for that monster of a cpu to arrive at your door, then I might overtake you for a couple of days.
My ID is MadMaC

I'm running the CUDA SETI, but it's quite annoying really - I'm only on an 8600GT, and when the CUDA clients run (after 3 minutes usually) *everything* gets really slow. Movie playback (even though I'm using a software decoder), the Einstein@Home screensaver, etc. Quite annoying. :)
