So WTF was Quake III Arena about then?

Both Quake 3 and UT2k3 - 2k4 are the best in the genre, Q3 was a lot simpler as has been said previously, UT was just amazing imho lots of different game types and fire modes for the weapons, ability to bounce off walls etc etc etc.

As for the OP who's not added to the thread since starting it....well find something a bit more interesting to do that baiting people on a forum...go get a life :p
 
i wish the modern versions were better Q4 just doesn't play right and i don't think ut07 will be as good as the old ut were
 
I made a thread about this, but I shouldent have.

Are there still people playing Quake 3 online? Is it worth digging out my old copy of it.

I launch Q3 into CPMA mod anyway. At the moment I go to practice > FFA > any map > then when the map has loaded I press escape and there's an option for game settings. Inside that is instagib, but it says disabled. Double clicking on it brings up an option I assume I should be able to click and change but it looks like something's not showing.

Anyone got CPMA 1.39 installed who knows what to do?

OSP Q3 TDM/CTF are the best online experiences i've ever had in any of the games ive played.

Best thing about it was it rewarded practice and experience and the hit boxs were spot on.
