So you want some 7900GTX Benchies?

Hi folks,

I said i'd get some benchmarks posted at the weekend when I installed my 7900GTX but I have only just got round to it (faulty hard drives delayed installation!)

Here is my brief system spec;

AMD X2 4400+ / DFI Lanparty Ultra-D / 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix 'Tracer'
Seagate 7200.9 16MB 250GB SATA2 / XFX 7900GTX

Using Nvidia 84.43's + Nothing is overclocked.

3DMARK 06 - 5,844
3DMARK 05 - 10,311
3DMARK 03 - 21,761
3DMARK 01 - 29,446

PCMARK 2005 - 5658
PCMARK 2002;

CPU - 7211
MEMORY - 10,865
HDD - 1571

That seems a bit low to me. Even at stock my system beats those scores, the only one that it dosent is the 01 score. Surely a 7900GTX should be quicker than a pair of stock 7800gts

"pair" vs single 7900GTX? i'd say the pair would win tbh.

That seems low for a GTX people are getting that with their GT's.
You should be getting near enough 12k with a GTX.

He did say it wasnt overclocked.

Try disabling all the background services running only the core services you need and re-run the test.

For reference though, my X1900XT-X got

10632 3D MARKS in 3DMARK05 vs the 10311 3D MARKS I got with the 7900GTX

But in 3dmark 06

5735 (X1900XT-X) vs the 5844 3D MARKS of the 7900GTX

Overclock it. Those scores are right for you system at stock

dfi mobo = needs to be dialed in.

have fun with that, it takes one heck of a long time.

2.2ghz is just not fast enough for a 7900 GTX you need to overclock that cpu its bottlenecking the gfx card.
You will see a big increase at 2.6 upwards

Indeed - I'm @ 2.6 and it's much nicer. Although I'm currently trying to get it stable @ 2.7 as this speed seems to iron out even the toughest of creases.

Seems to be my CPU giving me the score, as my other scores seem a tad low (hopefully due to my faulty BFG).

you can get loads more out of your cpu at 2.54 then what ya have now, tyry this

254 2.5,3,2,1 [email protected]

your system will fly like that, then up your fsb, put your memory on a 183 divider and see if ya can get to 2.8

if ya can and use you 11x254 will the [email protected](200)

then have a go of 3dmark 06, should bump up that cpu score

I upped to 2.4ghz, only got an extra 400 points, something like 10,900.

That was 10x240mhz and CPU @ 1.42v

10,605 @ 700/850 (with CPU @ stock)

Not bad, I dont think thats far off the XXX edition clock speeds!
