So you want some 7900GTX Benchies?

11391 @ 680 / 870 & CPU @ 2.5ghz (250x10 1.42v)

And

11609 @ 700 / 900 & CPU @ 2.5ghz (250x10 1.42v)

(Thats XXX edition speeds on gfx card, no artifacting @ temp at 51 degrees after 3dmark05!)

400 to go to get to 1200...! Hmmm what to do!

Extreme Edition and XXX Edition cards are made with cherry-picked cores AFAIK. They can be factory overclocked better and domestic overclock better than vanilla graphics cards.

Nice clocking by the way. :D

Not amazing, I got 11400 odd with a X1900XT.

Thats with an overclocked system though, that was my X1900XTX + system @ total stock :)

I am not sure whether I buy into the 'cherry picked cores' story, I mean, do we REALLY think manufacturers are gonna take all that time out to find them? Sales is all about getting things onto the shelves ASAP.
7900GTX's are very rare, so surely theyve just stuck whatever cores they can get on all the 7900GTX's?

If my 7900GTX didnt artifact @ 700/1900 and the temp stayed the same (49 degrees + 51 degrees after 3dmark05 run) does that mean its able to be safe at that?

Yep, because they can charge a premium for them, and they sell like hot cakes when available. ;) I think the GTX and XT-X are cherry-picked too.

Thats pretty low too though.

13K should be a breeze on a tight system with an x1900xt

How so? Not CPU or GFX overclocked to a silly level either. Disabled loads of services and uninstalled usual Windows bloatware.

I've got my suspicions...

I mean, sure, they can do that when they have the quantity available, but if you think how rare the GTX's are, and most people are just gonna buy the vanilla version, with some sales going for the faster options, but the 7900GTX vanilla is what you'd assume theyd want to produce most overall of.

In which case, some owners might end up with XXX edition capable chips?

I suppose it's possible. I'm pulling most of this from my rear, of course, but I do know as much that Extreme Edition and XXX Edition cards are supposedly "cherry picked." The exact methodology and criteria for this is not really known to me.

It's called supposition, look it up troll. Your following like a wandering puppy into every thread is getting a little old.

Indeed EGT seems to be the only person revealing true FPS in oblivion with his x1900 and yet he has a top 3D mark score.

Respect to egt ;)
lol.

Shhh, according to egt and easyrider, anyone who gets decent performance with HDR+AA, be it with an X1800XT or X1900XT/-X, is a liar and should be hassled constantly.

Just warning you before you end up getting into a fight with these trolls. :)
