Feels like only the occasional RPG releases are up to the standard of being interesting enough to feel excited about.

Everything else is either meh, or just a reskinned engine from an earlier release.

Someone who wants to enjoy cool and quiet gaming during this hot summer spell?

Skip the Titans, grab a 1080Ti.
Not a chance at the current prices. If I had nothing else to do for fun then sure I would pay the currently ludicrous prices for 2 year old tech. But with new stuff around the corner and so much else to do in the mean time, I am happy to wait :D

It's not about the games anymore.

The hardware is needed because if someone buys a screen which is quadruple standard 1080p their FPS suffers so the manufacturers need to fix this.

Rinse and repeat demands by quadrupling 4k res to 8k if 4k becomes too accessible.

but thats a tiny tiny tiny market.

My PC is in a box at my parents, I need to copy the storage stuff to an external drive and then I think I'll probably sell it and revisit PC gaming when I've finished my new house, hopefully everything will be cheaper then. I'm not missing it that much though if I'm honest and its the first time in over 20 years that I havent had a PC

I really believed that AMD was going to work quietly on bringing Vega to 12nm along with the Ryzen 2*** series. It seemed like an easy win for an extra 10% of gaming performance. Hell I was hoping they were going to create 3 skews with a Vega 48 with 8gb of GDDR to replace the 580.

Definitely very bored and disappointed, but that's what happens when there's no competition. Hurry up with Navi and Ryzen 3000 AMD and I pray that Navi is good.

I am going to try and hold off this time (I have said it before mind). Performance at 3440x1440 is fantastic on my Ti, so an upgrade would be silly really.

Oh common gregster, you saying to me you will not want to upgrade to the new shiny architecture with new gddr6 vram? You telling me you are not bored to hell with Pascal after all these year? ;)

Will probably only cost you £100-200 to upgrade anyway. Chumps change for the guy who once had 3 titans in tri sli :p

I am definitely buying the 1180 founders edition and then later stick the evga hydro watercooler on it once it comes out :D

I have said it before but I would like to hold off. Meh, performance will probably decide what I will do.
