My experience from planetside is:

Every patch slowed the game down (G4 ti4600 + 2.2 ghz p4 getting 40-60 fps @mid-high settings, some slow down, but playable in open beta + release - 1 year later and the game was barely playable with that setup on minimum settings)

Too many random bugs that didnt get fixed - ie warp jumping, corpse bug..etc

The fact that they listened to the forums FAR too much!! Some of the weapons in the game were horribly unbalanced at release. Everything was basically buffed + nerfed until it didnt have any character!

Max units - after being nerfed (some anyway) they were basically useless except for the anti-air (TR excluded

)

The whole warping thing - stupid idea and a waste of time. Core combat - stupid idea to get people to buy the upgrade.

Devs have to realise that some guns can be better than others (within reason) and no matter what the setup, the forum will always be full of crying kids saying this is broken, too powerful...etc All people actually really cared about were the bug fixes, increasing the performance of the game + the possible addition of some race specific weapons! This is probably an instance when the devs should have ignored the community! :eek:

The original character I owned Goberkain is still on Europe-Chimera, after I unlocked after compleating 30 professions I turned my alt char into an armorsmoth, I manage to build up to be one of the best on the server, when the NGE hit I stayed unlike most of my friends, but the CU was just so bad I just sold up and quit.

WOW has not kept me as hooked at playing as SWG sis I would often be up until 3am on SWG but I just cannot do the same on WOW, but it is currently the best online game on the market, and going by PC gamers top 100 games it is the best game on the planet currently.

SOE took a decent game with a massive dedicated following, broke it and then for good mesure broke it a hell of a lot more, in the first six months of the NGE they would have got back at least 50,000 subs if they rolled it back but they didnt and lost 100k paying players.

They lied on the forum about changes, they reward us for bad service with double xp and think thats all right, which it isnt, if things go **** up on WOW Blizz tell the truth and give you playing time back.

I remember the days in SWG on Europe-Chimera where you couldnt go to Mos Eisley because of the lag, I remember the days before vehicles and the vehicle bug too.

When I unlocked after 30 professions which represented at least 8 months of play time it took me another 6 months at least to complete my jedi template, Jedi wasnt a problem and it didnt kill the game, the NGE and the CU killed it, I lost about 75 friends with the Cu and the rest and myself went with the NGE.

Listening to the players is what shafted SOE over in the first place with regards to SWG cough *Jedi* cough and plenty of the other ludicrous crap that happened during SWGs reign was down to whinging moaning little bitches who wanted an easy wtfpwn mode tbh. I played the game from EU release up untill it got buried just before RotW x-pac and the forums were just full of moaning ***** and 14yr old gangbanger wannabes. WoW forums are hardly any different and just becasue 9million people play something doesn't automatically make it the next best thing after sliced bread.

DAoC never ever saw even 1 million subscribers but in my opinion was still a far superior game to what wow will ever be. I pray to the norse gods on high that WAR will pillage WoW back to the stoneage but somehow I think I might be disapointed.

And yes Jedi did kill the game, releasing an alpha class no matter how hard to attain will automatically shaft game balance and it did. Anyone who denies that is either ignorant or on crack or both.

Ancient weapons and hokey religions are no match for a good blaster at your side.... by =Upde= brand weapons today !!!!

Jesus they were the days I tell ya. Ripping out allaate polysteel copper from the ground with 20 large harvestors and knocking out some of the best quality weapons behind the likes of legendary weaponsmiths like Ackave et.al.

The crafting system was second to none and only the industry and research parts of EVE come close to matching it.

I play wow, but only becasue I am in a decent end game raiding guild that can actually go into the likes of SSC, Eye etc and beat bosses, otherwise I would have uninstalled it after TBC was release. I have no intention of getting the next x-pac wrath of the bitch king and hopefully I'll get onto the WAR beta.

Space fix is currently in the form of EVE when i ain't raiding in wow

I played humpa (Kabar guild)after i sold Scruff and Jun'so can't really be arsed playing any mmo atm none feel like swg precu

KDS/Echo/Kittens where great times before the new wave of pvpers hit. Flame wars, roleplaying gees was great server at the start

think Ackave was a late player into the weaponsmith Business along with JB ect but was very strong when the geocave got going.

I remeber buying weapons off Mighty when he was geting money for his jedi and waiting for the steel to spawn to make lazzer carbines and the gem stone for T21 aww its al flooding back to me now
