SOF II - Who used to play?

never heard of it

was a fantastic game. Look into it.

OK

so played last night, very strange as i've just played a couple of years straight of cod4 and used to play this multiplayer religiously too. Move mechanics are similar but still love the jump crouch :D multiplayer is still awesome. It is a shame that its growing old to be honest, had some amazing times on this game. Will surely be playing it a bit more :D

i used to play years ago,i was in a clan called "noobmare",i was a admin long time ago and loved it and might even install it again to see if my old clan m8's are there.

I still own it.

Very good game.

When I built my Athlon64 3200+ system, with 1GB DDR400 ram and my amazing GeForce 4800 Ti SE; it was the first game I installed to play.

Ahhh, fond memories!

Played this for years, v1.0 though, none of this 'gold' nonsense! The community was far better.
Was in a clan called -john- had our own server and played pretty much exclusively just on the shop level, capture the briefcase :D

Am still mates with some of the clan players i met through that and see them regularly, that must be over 9 years now, lol.

I LOVED this game and cant remember why I stopped playing (SupCom Vanilla I think)

I used to play on the camping rascals server and a few others. Top game and way ahead of the curve

i played this game for many years, since the demo, i remember in the demo, shop map, being able to hide in the barrels on the roof, and shoot people as they walked past :D but my fav map was jor :D loved that map.

it is such a sham that sof3 was completely crap! and there is no other game on the market today that i can think of that is like sof2

SOF2 was brilliant and at the time had some excellent graphics, is iot possible to get it from GOG or somewhere like that

I played the MP demo of this non-stop when it was released. Was good fun actually.

I remember a trick to get the briefcase was to jump from the heli-pad and brush the side of building on the way down, so you wouldn't die from the fall. That way you could get to the briefcase in under 10 seconds, before the defenders even knew what was going on, especially if you threw in some smoke grenades first.

I regard this game as being fairly cutting edge compared to FPS offerings today. I liked the use of thermal imaging as well as the ability to lean around corners.

Don't even talk about the abysmal fail of sof3... so terrible. The graphics were not bad at the time at all and for fun the games so good. The lean was so mega, your head was nearly touching the ground :D

the game is actually free to play now if u can download a copy or borrow it from a friend, it takes any cd key u put in, i think they removed the cd key check quite some time ago.

probably because the people who's cd key it was isn't playing anymore so pb cd key duplications wont appear. Or maybe PB was just disabled anyway :D

This game triggered my online multiplayer gaming. It's been a while, but I absolutely loved it. Also, their patches added new maps and new guns for free, now there's something you won't see these days! I was in a clan called c2i under the name of Spawn, I believe.

I played the demo for ages, but then couldn't afford it when it came out. Got it a few months later and played it for ages too! Great game :)

i had this used to love it completed the 1st one loads off times was the 3rd 1 any good ?

If you mean the console release. Then no. It was abysmal by all accounts. One of the striking features of SOF was the realistic use of gore. In the 3rd game it was like non-existent.

A true successor to SOF II should have built on all aspects of the game. And released it on PC.
