Solar eclipse to plunge Britain into darkness - March 20th

Had pretty good luck in Chester. Set my alarm specifically for it, made a brew and sat on my car bonnet and watched it. Very light cloud actually seemed to help define it a bit more. Was surprised at how cool it was, not seen one before! Did get a few odd looks from drivers-by, as I live on a busy A road.

Got a really good view of it at work on the roof.

I work in an office with no windows so I couldn't tell if it was an eclipse or sunny day out anyway. Some good photos in here, really like that one anticonscience.

It does make you wonder. We have to be one of a few handful of planets in the whole galaxy that can probably experience an eclipse.

Say what? Magnitude? LOL

The last one in 99 was significantly more impacting than this poxy, barely got dark, effort

Pretty sure this is the third one I've seen now (1985 born). I recall one prior to 1999 as well but cannot pin the date, that was almost a full one I think.

Total non event here. I was quite stoked as well. I'll only see three in my lifetime if I'm lucky, one in 1999, one today. I'll be 94 for the next one, if I live that long...

What an anti climax that was. Clear brilliant skies and it just went a tinge darker.
