Solar panel production figures

As long as you get airflow over the heatsink that should be more than enough. Is your inverter in the loft - do you have any air flow currently in the loft? I'm guessing you've for a cold loft?

It pretty sweaty up there in the summer, I only know now as when it was installed end of last summer I seen the inverter temp reading as was like hmmm. I can assist that heatsink area on the back of it but best way would be to keep the environment cooler in the first place so I seen I could replace a roof tile with a vented one and it can duct+fan heat out.

Yes from the soffit could be good. Get some tubing and some inline fans could be quite neat?

Was my thinking but didnt know if this was common. I see the inverter seems to be the component that fails most and if temps were sensible it should help?

Perhaps they're dirty or as Zeeflyboy says there was more haze in the air. Still 40+ is not to be sniffed at!

I actually meant in relation to @Welshman saying he thought one of the temperatures reported in his inverter was the panel temperature, which I think is very unlikely.

WOW on a 4.7kw system, that is south facing I assume, that is very nice. You north/south/east or west location. I am really looking forward to finally getting mine up.

Yeah, not quite sure how I ended up with 4.7 in my signature, now corrected to 8.74kW.

If anybody thinks my generation is extreme @Peteronthesouthcoast generates a whole lot more than me, he generated 89.2kWh yesterday, but it is a 14.4kW system.

ah lol, I thought it was a bit odd lol, I was gonna say they be some damned efficient panels lol

Just beat my record from last July, to 32.50 today.
Seeing a drop in panel generation, likely due to the heat. Was getting 5.2kw, now it’s dropped to 4.6kw

Also, I was out all day so couldn’t plug my car in, giving away 14 kWh :(

That's the reason I'm keeping mine cool. As with any electronics if you can keep them cool they last longer. The PoE switch I have in the loft for my CCTV cameras I've added a heatsink to the chassis of it it's knocked the operating temps down by 5-10c depending on the conditions.

We got some cloud cover today, so around 15kwhs today i think. Also checked panels earlier and they do need a clean, they got a coating of pollen on them, which is cutting production. Wish i had a long hose connector so i dont need the ladder lol

Bit of a saw toothed arc day with a big dipper at 1pm. Managed 21kWh by sundown @ 7.07 efficiency. Exported 10kWh after filling the battery and imported 286watts while running the aircon all afternoon while I lounged watching F1. ;)

Over 30 exported today!

Nearly a 40 day again. I've also broken April's production - now at 752kWh for May. Hopefully break 800 for the month.

I wonder what June will bring.

Now exported more this year than imported.

Cloudy almost all day but generated 17.9kWh, exported 4.5kWh and imported 0.9kWh.

I'm going to have to give Octopus a ring on Tuesday as its almost 3 weeks since the switch and they are still not picking up the smart meter. As the 2 week period is over I'm guessing something is up.
