Get a dehumidifier uses less electricity and does less damage to your clothes!

Nah. Saw something on BBB a while back that one of them airers and a dehum basically used also same electric as a tumble
Plus still have to have them about anyway
Somehow I won, the half load is on the banister and I will sort it tomorrow if its not dry, shes off out at 5am anyway

Haha! :D

Fair enough. We have a combo washer dryer. I've barely used it I find it unnecessary but it's old and not an efficient heat pump one which I guess makes a difference. Fortunately our utility room is well ventilated so with the CH on things dry quickly and the dehumidifier just makes it happen in a couple of hours.

Yes first world problems! :D

Outputting a whopping 49w at the moment… still snowing. At least the kids are excited lol.

Solcast was the lowest I’ve seen so far at 2kwh forecast, so I put a full charge in… we’ll see if it lasts!

We were having some nasty mould from having clothes drying in the house this winter. We bought an A++ heat pump tumble drier and it’s totally fixed the issue… pretty efficient (I haven’t directly measured it yet but it’s currently running and house is about 4-500w above baseload… typical cycle about 3hrs), but a worthy trade off vs having washing hanging out all around the house and dealing with the mould.

We did have a dehumidifier but it was probably too small for the task of dealing with the volume of washing that happens in a home with 2 young kids!
