Solar panel production figures

Today it's a little meh but it's ticking over at a little over 1kW generation, the sun isn't out but it's bright enough to slowly charge the battery.

My goal is to have battery as near to 100% by the time the daylight is fading as I can.

not happy bunny....my efergy data hub is now on back order until July, so will still be on manual upload until then to pvoutput
What is the data hub? I might have one of those lying around you can have? Is it that wee unit that pairs to the CT clamp?

hi kaie - this is the data hub

it allows me to see the solar data online and send the info to pvoutput automatically
Yeah, that's the thing - think I might have one I could send you if helpful? Let me check I still have it later and you're welcome to it - don't need it any more so welcome to it for free

Yesterday was a milestone for me, since 2014 I have been giving away excess solar generation for a pitiful FiT price, well I got a 5kw battery now and as I generated 10.6kWh @ 3.6 efficiency I filled my battery and then still managed to export 3.6kw. The battery lasted until 11:15pm when it was 20% and shut down. Another battery and I would be sorted in summer.
And today is....grey and cloudy, not even generated .3kWh yet and of course the battery isn't getting charged.

i always find it funny listening or reading about people with their 5, 10, 15kwh of batteries not even lasting a few hours in the evening..... a 10kwh battery on my current kwh usage would last me 2 days lol

@Welshman the thing is a 5kWh battery doesn't give you 5kWh of power, in Oldmans case it shut down at 20% (that can be altered), that means he actually used circa 4kWh, also 4kWh in doesn't equal 4kWh out due to efficiency losses. Perhaps they cook on electric, and that really hammers the battery, once he adds another battery it may well see them through to the next morning.

By the way, if my battery is fully charged late afternoon, I still have battery left the following morning and we have an electric oven, I enjoy using my powerful computer with dual monitors of an evening or a couple of hours in my cinema room, while the wife and daughter watch TV, we have lights on in the rooms we are in if we need them on, I have a server running 24/7 for various reasons, lots of network equipment, two fridge freezers (no bodies ;)) because we're a family and need them.

People live their lives differently, we don't all want to live like electric hermits just to be able to boast about low electric usage, if that suits your life style then that is fine, but it doesn't suit the majority.
