why are you calling me disgusting and accusing me of stealing a computer?? i opened a dispute for damage and bits missing, seller didnt reply. Not once did i ask or expect to be refunded all the payment.

because you have STOLEN it. you opened a dispute, that means you will likely get refunded. you have stolen the computer.

You have the computer and the money you paid for it, you have stolen it.Refund the £700 and realise you were silly doing what you did. You do not open a dispute and sell the goods.

You're an absoulte idiot.
You should have made a claim, kept the PC, won the appeal, returned the PC.
Instead he's now a PC down and you're 300 in the clear.

sorry im guessing youve never used ebay before. You open a dispute to sort out a problem. Infact in the how to resolve section i chose "replacement if availble" for the parts damaged.

So please dont accuse someone you know nothing about, have very little knowledge of the situaltion, with the person involved trying to sort out the issue of stealing.

YOU OPENED A DISPUTE BUT SOLD THE ITEM.
What do you not understand about that!?
Why else open a dispute other than to get a refund?

I find it very hard to understand why you sold the broken PC for parts.
You wanted a replacement/refund i assume. Where have you seen replacements/refunds given without the original broken/faulty item being returned?

If you got a car delivered to your door that didnt have an engine for some reason, you wouldn't sell it for scrap, then go back to the dealer asking for a replacement/money back without expecting to have to return the engineless car.

wonder if any of the above actually have been in this position. I have.

We purchased an item, it arrived and was unusable. Seller wouldn't refund or accept item back.
Paypal ruled in our favour, gave us a refund. We questioned what to do with item, they told us its up to us!

The item wasn't 700 mind (just under 200).

I've kind of been in the situation.
I sold a 4870x2 to some guy on Ebay for 170 pound.
A month later he claims it's broken and is demanding a refund, I offered to RMA the card for him, but he refused to send it to me and was threatening me with paypal dispute, I closed my PP account to cover myself, he then filed a dispute and PP refunded him his money, while not touching me, he then returned the card and I RMA'ed it and resold it for 180 pound (It was still in shrink wrap).
I profited 180 pound, the buyer got his money back, and someone got a brand new 4870x2 for 180 pound, so.. Nobody but PP lost LOL.

i didnt expect any help form ebay or the seller. He hadnt replied to any my messages over 30 days asking for help with the broken pc. I felt i had been shafted thats why i sold pc to cut my losses as needed buy another as was intented for a gift on christmas.

yes I do use ebay and have a higher feedback than you.

You have the computer and the money you have paid. That is fraud.

You do not apply for a refund and sell the item.

it doesn't matter what you think, you wait till ebay/paypal have an outcome.

Then WHY open a dispute?
You're an idiot.

Well hopefully the seller can claim from his courier insurance.
Otherwise you will have to return him the PC you opened a dispute for, and that you then sold.

So just return his PC to him....... (GL with that)

Unfortunately for your, your desperation to recover some money for the replacement present meant you were 'cutting your losses' (which should have been +-£0, but is now -£400). When you made that decision, you decided you'd be fine with losing £400 to get back £300 quickly.
So if you are wanting to avoid 'tainted money', then speak to the seller, but expect to be down £400 overall.

I hate when people use the "I was on holiday excuse or away and didnt have internet access" I just wish ebay/pay pal could look deeper into problems when people use that excuse. Something as simple as looking at when the user last accessed they account.

If it turned out that the user hadnt logged into there account etc then fair enough but I have heard that reason being used a lot and in my mind is just an easy excuse. In this day and age with mobiles that can access emails and PC's most places its a poor reason to say you didnt know. But then again not every human is stuck to the interweb like an OCUK user lol.

The seller was wrong for not contacting you but you never know he could have been away saving the planet.

But the fact still stands that you were wrong for selling the item before finding out what the out come of the complaint was. Most people that use ebay a lot will know that pay pal side with the buyer 99.9% of the time automatically. Also if you waited and got the refund you could have asked pay pal what you should do with the goods. At this point if they told you to do what ever you like as they did with Morba at least you could have justified you reason for selling it to the seller who could maybe claimed against ebay/pay pal for supplying you with incorrect information.

Just remember in the future that buying on ebay isnt a straight forward process when things go wrong. They take ages to sort anything out. As much as possible I avoid using ebay for anything as they suck.
