Lol, I'll let him explain that one. You'll be in shock.

good set, though i cant stand that tilt shifting , small world stuff (in general)

It's fake :p

But the way he applied it is very popular.

As for me, some good shots and even some TS is applied well, although I am against faking it, do it for real or not at all...OCD and all that :p

Some composition errors, as in you stood them in front of that tree, which must looked like a good idea at the time but its like a giant phallic shape thing and the leaves that you purposely placed in front didn't work. If you want to see how that is applied correctly, watch some videos and photos from Emily Soto, she holds up some branches in front of her lenses on purpose and dangle in front of her lens.

There are also some white balance inconsistency, some shots are more on the blue and red side than others.

Nice set but the grain on the last shot is distracting for me personally. Any plans on getting a proper TS lens btw? Looks like a lot of wedding photographers are using them these days but they fall in and out of fashion even more than jeans do.

Client is happy with them.:)

"Photos are beautiful. Had such beautiful remarks from family today. Thank you so much. You made it lots of fun, and really made me feel at ease.
Thanks again."

Just echoing the others.. really not a fan of fake tilt shift stuff... I think a subtle vignette would work better personally...

Nah, I wouldn't want to carry any more weight, and fake tilt shift works just as well imo. At the moment my setup is minimal and combined with strategically chosen straps etc. that allow me to be very mobile. Adding more gear would change the way I work for the worse imo.

You didn't answer me the last time I asked.

What brought on this sudden use of tilt shift? I've seen this applied from other togs in wedding for years, I have photoshop too for as long as I had computers and a camera but resisted using it.

What made you start doing it?

Ah thats fair enough. Which straps do you use out of interest? I'm guessing some sort of dual camera setup, like a dual blackrapid?

Lot's of different reasons RL, to play with perspective, to isolate subject from distracting elements where it's not possible to use DOF, because I like the look etc.
The plugin I use offers all the control and customisation I need, and works for me anyway.

Why did you buy a TS?

Yeh dual BR, as well as a Thinktank belt system to carry my 14-24.

Thats a nice setup as I've seen the same thing first hand. I still just don't trust ring mounted systems yet but saying that I rarely even use a strap as they get in the way for most shots and are very uncomfortable. Having a hand strap on a Nikon DSLR also doesn't look like a good idea as theres no attachment area on the camera or the official grips as far as I can see, whilst there are on the canon systems :(

I was the same, but the BR fasteners are very good, they don't come loose.

Do your bodies get marked from moving around your hips though if you use a single BR strap? I don't want to stick a body or lens on it and then realise after a few hours of walking around I've just scratched the **** out of it lol. Suppose thats my OCD, as when its in my hand, I know where it is, compared to bouncing around my hip lol.

I don't know what your junk looks like Raymond but I can't see a phallic looking tree :p

Nice set. For one point of constructive crit, I'd say that if you're setting the portraits off to the side then you should have them on opposite sides rather than the same.

Also, try dirtying the frame in other ways than just branches from above. It's fine but can just get a bit repetitive.

I've worked with this wedding tog - www.funkyphotographers.co.uk/weddings - who was very good and seems to love dirtying the frame and does it quite well.

My only niggle is that you have them in front of a dead tree for some of the shots. In front of a live tree is good - growth (together), long lasting, stronger with age etc. Dead tree... well, it has the hall mark of "the end of" :) Particularly with the order in which you've posted them in this thread. Couple either side of a fully grown, very much alive tree.. then bam - no couple, and a dead tree that looks like the live one has died.

I don't ever use a single strap from the BR. If I am only taking a single camera out, then I use a customised strap and put a BR fastener on it so it's easy to attach to my camera if needed. Below is the kind of strap I use.

When I'm using to bodies on my BR, I don't wear anything that can scratch my camera. i.e. nothing metal.

Then you really should buy a TS lens. That's more than just playing with it. that is making use of it.

Why did you buy a TS?

I wanted it since 2001, its why I bought a Canon over a Nikon!
