testing at 3.8ghz and temps look to be settling around 63-65
I was at 4.0. System hung after my initial post earlier, so I dialed it back to 3.8 and it seems stable now. Not tried 3.9 but I could probably get that stable too if I tried. 3.8 is fine though and i'm happy with the temps. I'm probably going to have to put close to 1.55v to get 4.0 stable, and I'm not comfortable with potentially voiding my warranty (or dealing with the temps)are you stuggling with stabilety to get to 3.9?

I have noticed one thing though. I can't set my bus speed any higher than 100, system will not post. Could this be memory incompatibility causing this?
Right I'm now at 3.6 1.113v and with prime 95 my temps are at 65c and with cpuz stress/bench my temps are at 55c
BIOS needs to mature, out the gates Asus Crosshair is best, but we find on Intel platform Asus are always king of memory overclocking generally, particular at product launch.![]()
Oi Gibbo, when are the Gigabyte boards due in? eh? eh?![]()
So I just installed some Corsair Vengeance LPX memory, and I can run it at its rated speed, although I still cannot set the bus speed any higher than 100mhz. I have no idea how Gibbo or anyone else is able to get it to boot at 132mhz and whatnot
Quick question, and this may seem like a stupid one but I just want to be sure. The Crosshair VI Hero has an 8pin and 4pin CPU connector. Should I connect both? or just the 8pin?
It says you have to use the 8 pin but the 4 pin is optional. Roundabout way I know.Yeah I just went through the manual, but It didnt specifically say to use both simultaneously
